Its a legit question, Goku acts more like Parker then he does anime Goku in this movie, Goku was never awkward high school student that's what Peter Parker, is completely legit point. Anime Goku was never like that.

This movie more or stole a lot from the spider-Man movies, Goku acts like Peter Parker, Chi-Chi is the high school sweat heart he pines after (MJ) and Fuller is the bully who torments him (Flash Thompson).

They might as well give Piccolo a Goblin gilder and have him throw pumpkins at Goku.

There's a blatant parallel. Unfortunate, really. The origin could have been more original, but I guess adhering to cliches and conventions is all the writers could think of.

The next qualifying characteristic is how the general atmosphere surrounding the board is regarding the topic of discussion. Since most people here are bashing the hell out of the movie, posting "is it a ripoff of xyz" to my eyes comes off as a obvious attempt to bash it. Hell, maybe I'm wrong, but I've done it for years myself, so I know what it's all about. That's all.

A SM1 rip-off, it has appeared to be since the first script reports and trailers. The movie lacks all originality and is a clear-cut case of boring Fox formula-pummeling. Soon though Fox will be churning out their TDK photocopies too.
