Maybe they're going to pull this off, where the symbiote retains it's costume form?

they wont do this because Sam does whatever the hell he wants to do with these characters and classic comicbook story lines...its alright to have "organic" shooters but to change an entire storyline....Bullsh...however....we still dont know what the hell is gonna happen

Not quite. If it IS in fact a symbiote, i'm willing to bet that it's covering his exsisting costume, and if it does "flow-off" of him- he'll be left in his good ol' red an' blues! I'm so excited about all the latest developments with the movie- this'll be one for the ages!

i think the pictures of tobey with his
ragged ass hair
bags under his eyes
and over all abyssmal look
proves that its the symbiote
i mean im pretty sure its not one of those
"oh boy im feeling ****ty, i better wear my black spiderman costume today"
kind of thing

I was thinking the same thing, but if you look at the new pics, the spider on the front is completely different then the r/b suit

I wonder if the origin will be still be alien.

I wouldn't be against it. But come on. This is the same franchise that eliminated mechanic webshooters because they're too unrealistic, so I draw my conclusions about how they might handle its origin based on that for now.

LOL! Good point. I just continue saying that "if it IS.." line, because well- it HASN'T been confirmed yet! But i feel like the rest of you, i believe it IS the symbiote indeed! It's gonna to be interesting to see what type of spin they put on it, as they try to translate such an epic saga in the Spider-Man mtyho in one movie! (And i'm PRAYING that won't be done the way it was in Ultimate Spider-Man!!)

Well even if it's not- it'll be ok. One thing to Bendis' credit, he retold the story of the symbiote's origin and made it work- which i believe they'll do in this movie as well. It'll definitely be man-made, but by whom?? That we don't know yet.

Hmmm, well IF it's not a symbiote, what will it be?

The Suit? (Something similar to Ultimate Spider-Man?)
Nano-bots?
Some kind of chemical?
A new kind of organism found on earth?

Just remember, these are idea's.

I willing to bet that they'll go with that USM angle. It's more believeable, which works for out perfectly- and doesn't reqiure time to be spent on just HOW it was brought from outerspace an' all that jazz. Just keep it simple, but interesting at the same time.

I think some CGI will enhance the suit and it will look more alien...

Well it could come from an asteroid. That would be believable.
LOL!! Honestly, if the symbiote WASN'T from outer space, would that kill the story's credibility for you? Because don't get me wrong, i wish that EVERY superhero movie would go straight from the comic to film without changing a thing from the comic. But alas....

No but I'd be more pleased. I mean the only other thing that would work is the USM version. All the other ideas sound stupid.

The USM version (minus the Peter/Eddie parent thing) was a very cool alternative version of the symbiote.

Well if you remember they kind of already introduced the symbiote story. Jameson's son (was almost married to MJ in SP2) according to that announcer lady at that ball, he was introduced as playing football on the moon (easy to introduce a symbiote from him)

They already laid the ground work for symbiote in SP2. With Capt. Jameson, also that assistant to Jameson (editor) says "We've had Eddie on it for weeks" (scene talking about needing a Pic of Spiderman for Page 1 ***I wonder who that Eddie is***. Credit to Raimi he cleverly instills the plot lines for the next film, he did so with SP1 and then SP2, and now with SP3. If you think I'm making this up, watch SP2, listen carefully to both teh Intro of Capt. Jameson and then the scene about Spidey pics.

why is everyone talking about a church as being so significant to whether or not its the symbiote?

Because that's how Pete removes the symbiote: church bell.

that doesn't mean he had any intention of introducing Venom. He stated before that he doesny care for the character. You're reading a but too much into casual comic references.

whats your theory?

Spidey's genetic mutation begins to show side-effects like it did in sm2, and an alternate personality devlopes itself inside his mind. Think Jim Carrey's Mask. At this point he's dressing in all black and behaving like the symbiote spidey during weekends and waking up not knowing what goes on when he goes into symbiote mode. Then he somehow discharges this evil from within as venom and it joins with eddie brock to survive.

wow that does sound kinda farfetched now... it never seemed so bad before. ****... well... I want it to happen anyway and there's always a chance it will....:(.

The theory grew out of the idea the spidey's not wearing any alien goop on his costume, but really has black costume on. Now it seems to be true that he'll not be covered in symbiote goop. he'll have clothes over his black suit, which wouldn't be necessary if he wore a suit that could morph into any suit at all.

well that's all of it. kill me if you must.
