Is it time for another Die Hard Movie?

No, you still have a guy who is kicking the crap out of everyone and no one knows why. I mean if the r-rating is the only reason you liked the original Die Hard, then obviously the superb pacing and Bruce Willis' natural charisma and presence (which have been the driving points of the franchise since day one) means nothing to you.

Bruce's natural charisma was enhanced by the R rating.

"Attention, attention, Nills is dead, Nills is dead ****-head!"

Was more impressed in how equally funny and badass he was without the r-rating. Not a lot of people can do that. Like say Samuel L Jackson.

Well, I'd rather they didn't impose any restrictions on him and let him improv his own lines like in the original.

He wasnt that badass. He was *****fied.

Stop defending Fox's horrible, franchise killing decisions.

Obviously I agree, I have a preference, but I find it silly to sweat a PG-13 rating

Not defending Foxs decision. Making the argument that it isnt franchise killing. Theres little difference to "I ran out of bullets," and "I ran out of ****ing bullets." I'll never say I want a PG-13 Die Hard, but I am never complain about one either. Willis proved he could still be a badass. Cursing and swearing dont make you a badass, in fact, more times than not, it makes you sound like an idiot.

Well said.

"Enough of this kung fu ****." is easily McClane. Not because he curses, but because it's him.

Please enlighten us with your thoughts.

To me, McClane was still McClane. Violence is cursing aren't the main components to making a film good.

I'm not saying PG-13 was the way to go, but I thought for the story and what it had, it's action sequences, it was fine.

At least he said Yippi Ki Aye Mother****er. If it boils down to cursing beeing the most important. Though that is his signature line, they had it.

As long as it's not as mind-numbingly boring as Live Free Or Die Hard.

There's no reason to hold Willis back, and that's why forcing a PG-13 rating is a bad idea.

Well...I was too young to see the orginal Die hards...first time I saw them were EDITED...on TV...and I still loved them then. So I was never used to the r-rated McClane. And how the hell was Live Free and Die Hard Boring? The only die hard that was boring was Die Hard 2. IMO

Live Free or Die Hard was entertaing but it didn't feel like a Die Hard movie at all. I slick movies, but to me, Die Hard shouldn't be slick. With them nice filters and camera work.

Plus, McClaine was a bonefine superhero in that one. Fighting one on one with freakin' Jets. Now that's a real man right there.

This guy surfed a freaking truck on a huge wave and suvived more explosions than any superhero anyway. I think a Jet would be no problem for McClane at this point. Like title says....he dies hard.

I still think the natural progression is Die Hard on a Death Star.

"Now I have a lightsabre. HO HO HO"

McLane as a Jedi would kick ass....and I doubt he would go out like a punk like Mace Windu. Suck it Jackson

Bad villian(That guy from Deadwood is a terrible actor), bad side kick villian, lame villian death scenes. Annoying sidekick with Justin Long(who imo makes every movie he is in worse), and I just found the action scenes boring. Like the bad cgi just made it that worse.

Let me say it one more time. John McClane is a foul mouthed, sarcastic, smoking badass.

Now, you're not allowed to smoke in a PG-13 movie any more...so thats gone. You cant say anything past ****...which then the famous line is gone, and he cant be an *******....

So he can be sarchastic. Cool. WHo cares.

Depends on the concept, I actually think Motorcade could be retooled into a great Die Hard movie.

Make it the last time, you have said it 4 times already and added nothing to this thread since the first post you made.

Aside from the facts. Too bad people seem to over look it. :o I cannot stand people who disagree with me on this issue. I just cant. Make some nasty comment at me, I dont care. But it's not right to tone down a series. Not right at all.

But what else is there to add? If its not gonna be R, then whats the point? Just like the AvP movie. Yeah sure, when they added gore, it didnt make the thing better, but they created a film for children. Same thing for Live Free. Which is why the movie was not nearly as good as the first, or the third.

I'll give it some praise for being different in the story and events. But taking out the uttermost important ingredient to his character....thats like taking Vader's suit away. Its the whole character.
