I would have liked it more if they just replaced X-24 and Pierce with Omega Red. Pierce was a weak villain while X-24 was another Wolverine clone.

Yea I've been waiting for Omega Red for a while. However explaining his backstory might take up more screen time than it deserves.

Either way they should have had one villain to follow from beginning to end, and not have this weird switch in the middle of the movie.

There was talk of it being Sabretooth at one point.

I would have kept Pierce and just have him get continually upgraded as a the film progressed. They could have even paid tribute to Omega Red by giving Pierce tendrils in his final form.

24 makes far more sense than Omega Red for the movie. Omega Red could lead his own movie. Plus, the scene with Xavier just works a lot better if there's a bit of confusion involved.

That must've been where I heard it from. I think Liev mentioned it too. Like there was a version of the script that had him in it.

Don't know if there was a scheduling thing or creative thing, or maybe both.

They could have included Omega Red. He could have been one of the Reavers like Lady Deathstrike was in the comics. Or he could have just been Rice's ultimate weapon and the source for the anti-mutant agent in household products.

The films have always taken liberties: Sabretooth wasn't a member of the brotherhood or Logan's brother. Mystique wasn't Magento's subordinate, Xavier's sister, or the template for the Sentinels. I could go on and on...

They put Donald Pierce in the movie and we didn't get his whole background with the Hellfire Club. We wouldn't have gotten Omega Red's background either but he could still have been an interesting and powerful villain for Logan. It was also the last opportunity to see this battle between Omega Red and Hugh's Wolverine which some fans have been waiting years for.

I just think visually, Omega Red would have looked more threatening, visually striking and fresh with the tentacles and pale grey skin. Donald Pierce (in the film) isn't visually appealing other than his cyborg hand. X-24 is a Wolverine clone that only looked somewhat hotter than the original. Also Omega Red would have looked great in posters.

Yeah, it would have either been tonally inconsistent or a waste of Omega Red.
