I didn't think people actually did that sort of thing.
I kind of thought about it once, though it was more of an afterthought from several of my other projects just kind of coming together once.
I had actually generated (for my own defense, due to some overriding paranoia when I was a little younger about being invaded or something) an immediate versatile survival suit. Which was actually kind of cool in the fact that it was an insulating homeostatic centered suit with a special kind of cloth that actually hardened upon impact, making it extremely durable. Wearing a few plates on it that actually tucked under the non reflective surface of the black suit were thinner aluminum plates, and my entire knuckle structure, and lower palm were plated for my defense. Of course, vital areas also afforded thicker amounts of the plating, as well as a mask with a small filter for breathing, so most things couldn't get to me. The whole suit was extremely durable and rather lightweight, and easy to get into, and out of if you knew how it opened and closed.
Either way, I thought about it once, and then decided against it. One, I'm no more capable at stopping crime short of literally preventing what I may believe to be crime (moral dillemma), and two, I more or less found I liked (and was better at) just designing and planning, over actual prevention. That, and I guess the materials cost a lot if the suit becomes repeatedly damaged.
