Is the 360 really worth getting?

It disappeared half-way through E3. We've had NOTHING on this game since forever. :(

Even so, the number of great 360 games that will be available a month from now will still far surpass those on the PS3 and the Wii. That alone should be incentive enough to put down money on a 360. The fact that even sweeter games are on the way early next year (nothing is more amazing than Mass Effect and Lost Planet will pwn) is just icing on the cake.

I don't see anything special with Lost Planet. I played the demo and really tried to be excited about it, but its just going to be another average action game from Capcom. Not great, not bad, but just average. And the guy said he already pre ordered the Wii and doesn't plan on buying the PS3 when it comes out. So in his scenario, he should wait a little longer to buy the 360 if he already isn't convinced of buying it now. Your point with even better games coming early next year just reinforces my point. He could probably get a better deal on the 360 by then as well. If I were him, I would wait. Its smarter financially and logically speaking.

Yeah, like Dead Rising. :whatever:

Typically, holiday shopping seasons in which consoles get price drops in. If the 360 isn't getting a price cut this Christmas, it sure as hell won't in the Q1 2007 when Mass Effect is scheduled to hit stores. I don't see how it can be anymore "smarter financially and logically" to buy a 360 then.

the only reason i'm holding off on getting a 360 right now is that there seems to only be shooters and rpgs being released.

and saint's row is crap compared to what GTA will be.

plus i'm waiting it out to see if there's a price cut...

Yes, like Dead Rising. I m not saying the game is crap, its just not jump out of your seat AMAZING, or the way people like you portray it to be. Dead Rising is fun, but again, its not OH MY GOD!! I HAVE GOT TO BUY THIS SYSTEM JUST TO PLAY THIS GAME-type deal.

If the price cut does happen during the holiday season, it will be smarter to just wait until then or after the holiday season since thats when some of the more potentially great games are being released anyway, though it isn't for sure even of that. So again, your argument does nothing but reinforce my point of just waiting to buy it if you are not convinced by now. Don't get me wrong, I have an 360, but I am just more open minded than most 360 owners and not a fan boy about things like this, because who really gives a ****?

Look at it this way: If a person isn't convinced of buying the 360 now with games like Gears of War out there, or Condemned or GRAW, Oblivion, Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell DA, FEAR, etc. If all those kinds of great games are out there and a person still is on the fence, just wait or don't buy it at all. It may not suit what he is looking for, he did order a Wii, which might better suit his kind of entertainment. Everyone is different.

I agree on Dead Rising. It's not a system seller, but it shouldn't be overlooked, either. It's like the Xbox360's version of Otogi.

Phew, I thought it officially got canned.. i got worried.

I hope it's not canned.

I mean, it's possible, MS has dropped very promising titles before (Psychonauts, B.C., Citizen Zero, True Fantasy Live Online (though that was all Level 5's fault on that one))...

I really hope the Too Human trilogy makes it to the Xbox360. :(

I had to send I 360 in to get fixed, I couldn't take it back because my mom threw out the box. The real question is, are mmoms worth having.

Its not canned. The developers are still updating the blog with new info every month.

Good. Ninja Gaiden meets Deus Ex is NOT allowed to be canned. EVER!!! :D :D

Glad to hear it's alive. :D

Very so. :D

Thanks for all the advice guys. I went and traded in all my games as I planned to do, but in the end, I didn't buy a 360.

Yes, there are some nice games coming out, but Jerry's point hit home with me. Were there really any games for the system out at present that made the console a must buy for me? The answer was no. Splinter Cell and Marvel Ultimate Alliance will run perfectly well on my PC (I've got a fairly powerful gaming rig), so to buy the 360 just for those seemed a bit of a waste.

I've got the Wii to look forward to in December, and NWN2/Splinter Cell/Marvel Ultimate Alliance to keep me busy for a while, so I'm going to sit back and wait, see how things pan out. I'll likely re-asses what I'm looking for after the PS3 comes out, see if there's a price drop and a greater selection of the sort of games I like to play (action, RPG, FPS, Adventure).

Only two weeks left until Gears of War. There's your killer app.

Plus, I've also been hearing great things about Rainbow Six Vegas (I've got it pre-ordered).

I tried SC on the PC a few times... didn't work for me. You need a controller.

X-Men Legends II is horrible to try playing on the computer (like, you use the whole keyboard :( :whatever:  :cmad:), so I can only imagine how awful MUA will be :)

No problem. Like I said, thats the best way to approach it if you aren't sure, even with Gears of War coming out soon. But just keep in mind when you post in either the 360 forums or PS3 forums or whatever, most of the people there will be biased towards that system. So just try to distinguish the bull**** from the facts that people try and feed you.
