Okay, when it was on Spider-Man it was great right? Later it started to become a little ***hole, hence why he got rid of it.

Now it's on Brock. So Is it just me or is he in control more than Spidey? I'm reading this book called Spider-Man: The Venom Factor and it's really great.
Eddie talks to the Symbiote in his head, he tells it to wait and be patient like he should. It seems to do what he wants all the time. In one part he was disguised as Brock and encountered some homeless down in the sewer. Being a "lethal protector" he was nice to them and just wanted answers on where this thing he was looking for was. Some gang members come down there to pick a fight and Eddie has the Symbiote take care of it violently, and badass like. He broke a guys arm! I said to myself "I love you Venom xD".

But anyway I hear that no one can control the Symbiotes, I know it really started to bring out the worst in Peter, but on Brock it seems very content.

So I ask, would you keep this if you got it? I think I would. =\

If it gave me enhanced powers, but didn't feed off of me, I might keep it, but if I did know it was feeding off of me. I would try to get rid of it no matter what.

I don't even consider it a symbiote. A symbiote gives & takes in equal measure. The thing is a parasite. And it was never great with Spidey. It used him & drained him, and all he ever got in return was webbing, quick changes & a place to keep his keys. Convenience for your life is not an even trade.

Maybe, if you show to him that you're the one in control and that you own him, and not the opposite.

it didnt just give him a place to keep his keys, dont forget, it completely enhanced his powers making more powerful than before. The thing also messed with his mind, of course peter realized the thing was no good to him.

EDIT-further proof that it's a parasite? Venom. I decide I don't want you, you decide to kill me? Any relationship where you don't have the right to walk away & get on with your life is unhealthy to begin with. And then, when it could no longer use Brock to pursue its vendetta, it went & got with Gargan.

i don't give a dam if the thing kills my family in front of me I would still take it...

in all honesty...knowing the baggage that it comes with...i just still don't think i have enough will power to turn down that kind of power

The Venom symbiote is apart of a parasitic race. For a while, the Venom symbiote staved off it's parasitic nature, but it is what it is.

Eddie has had better control of the symbiote moreso than Peter ever could, or Gargan ever does, but even Eddie found the symbiote to be a cancer (literally, Dan Slott offically retconned that now the symbiote was the real cause of Eddie's cancer).

I think Venom is kick-ass, but in no way in hell would I want to be Venom.

Same here. It'd be a little weird sharing all aspects of your life, but I am a little biased because the suit is just too cool looking.

It gave Eddie the powers of a full grown spider, and abilities that surpass Spider-man and mortal men. I'd say that's a fair trait of a symbiote.

Nope. No amount of power in the world will convince me. If it seems too good to be true, it is. I have enough voices in my head. I don't need another one. And the thing would be a little too clingy if you know what I mean.

Give it to someone else for me to admire from afar.

im not serious dude..i just thought that would be a very powerful way to express how much i want a symbiote :woot:

im a firefighter I do save people for a living

Seems to me it only gave him what it took from Peter. Oh-and how's Eddie doing now, by the way?

Still, it gives him a good ride for exchange for a relationship, and a home. I suppose it isn't a perfect, but it might depend on the person it's joined to, Carnage, however insane, is in complete control of his suit, and Toxin seems to be stable for the most part. It could be that every symbiote is different in some way, but that's just speculation on my part.

Remember when Cletus lost the Carnage symbiote to the Silver Surfer? And how Cletus and the symbiote argued in Venom vs. Carnage? Well, its not much, but it showed that there can be a rift between Cletus and his symbiote.

Really, the only reason the Venom symbiote and its host ever have any problems is because the symbiote always wants to leave whoever its bonded to to join its very previous host...that, and it apparently gave Eddie cancer. Anyway, I miss the good old days when the symbiote was permanently boned to its host. Venom as a character loses something unique if at any given time it can easily bounce from body to body.

The symbiote has been shown to be too unpredictable to be trusted as a source of power. Just ask Angelo Fortunato. As Chris said, it uses its host as it needs him/her. Its tried to trade up to Peter, to Eddie and who knows who else. I dont need an extra voice in my head, either. I'll take a glider and pumpkin bombs any day. :gg: :bomb:

Oh, let's not forget the time Spidey defeated Venom simply by making the symbiote believe he wanted it back. So it has no real sense of loyalty either.

It was their second fight, I guess.

You're way off, when pete discovered the creature was alive he freaked and the symbiote (it's the only member of it's race that isn't a parasite) couldn't explain things to him at the time and only reacted instintively. After Pete figured about the church bells he went to basically torture the suit to death but he got stuck as was going to die until the symbiote fought back into the room again despite the pain and saved Peter Parker's life with it's first truely conscious act.

Read Web #1 and you'll completely change your mind about this and the symbiote's intentions. It only became hateful because it was spurned and then all eddie had to feed it was hate.

I doubt anything will change my view of its intentions. And it is a parasite. It takes more than it gives. That's what a parasite does.
