Is your town safe?

Not in Durham isn't...I have been robbed at gunpoint twice.

Kind of glad I decided not to go to Duke now.

Its pretty safe here, with the exception of downtown. We had a run of murders from like November to December but crimes is always at its worst around the holidays.

When I'm at my "home" in Pennsylvania, I'm definitely safe, it's all really chilll.

When I'm in Georgia though, it's quite a different story. I live and go to class in downtown Savannah, which has the crime rate of Atlanta with a hell of a lot less people. Not to mention that i found out the other day that a few of the gangs initiations involve killing/robbing/raping students from my college.

SO much more fun in Savannah.

I lived there for like 6 months and it was absolute ****. :down

It must be a huge culture shock going from PA to there. It was hard for me and its only like 100 miles from my hometown.

Yeah, I've had to get used to a lot of new things, but it's all good, I actually love the city. There's just a whole lot more to do, and thankfully I can look just intimidating enough to not have to worry about getting mugged on any of the main streets (well, except for MLK, but everybody gets mugged on MLK).

A whole lot more to do? I was so bored when I was there. :csad:

The town I'm from has absolutely jack **** to do for anyone between 13 and 20, so really anything is better. And, now that i htink about it, I mainly do stuff through my college, so it's probably a little more exciting than just living here.

Toronto is a very large City.

There are neighbourhoods that I would recommend avoiding regardless of time of day,
there are neighbourhoods that should only be avoided after dark,
there are neighbourhoods that need to be avoided during a power outage,
then there are those neighbourhoods that are soo safe that you just WANT to cause some trouble to shake the folks up a bit (Yes Bridlewood, I'm coming after YOU one of these days)... ;)

I always wondered, which city in the US is actually considered the safest?

I stayed for a yr in rumford ( in maine )in the states and I spotted 15 sex offenders

It's kinda suburban, but the entire city is basically one big mall/entertainment complex, so crime can be rampant on occasion.

Meh i dont care, somone got shot and stabbed near my house (not at the same time mind) but if anyone gives me jip i`ll wack em

I've lived in a fair few 'unsafe' cities, but I've never felt unsafe being out at night.

they won't rob houses but they'll get into sheds in my town. there have been two murders i can remember but those people got involved with the wrong types. i could walk down the street fine.

Rumford lee not Romford. :o

Certain times of night I shouldn't walk down the street alone...but the most I ever see are bums...but the day they get desperate and try to rob me...they'll have another thing coming.

the suburb where I live has has the highest rate of arson in the whole of london and its a really small town. there was over 600 fires last year.
