It Lounges - Part 125

Yeah. It's almost like they had other stories to tell and were building up to it instead of rushing to it in S2 or something.

I'm not bashing it, I'm just asking. I saw S1 and S2, but that was it. I thought Winter was coming in a month or something, not in 4 seasons.

Their seasons take years to go through. The summer that just finished was something like 8 years long. No idea how that works beyond magic.

<-- Officially 10 years of off and on lurking. :D I didn't think I'd post again, as a grown man for a comic book related message board. I felt turning 30 I'm too old for this :hehe: With all the new stuff coming out, I couldn't help but come visit SHH again. :) I doubt anyone remembers me all that much, but I've not forgotten this site.
oh and...

Seasons last year's in the world of Game of Thrones. The summer that the the show begins in was ten years long. And 8000 years before the start of the story there was a winter known as the Long Night that lasted a generation.

"Thousands of years ago, there came a night that lasted a generation. Kings froze to death in their castles, same as the shepherds in their huts; and women smothered their babies rather than see them starve, and wept, and felt the tears freeze on their cheeks... In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time. They swept through cities and kingdoms, riding their dead horses, hunting with their packs of pale spiders big as hounds."

As for the group of Walkers and wights that attacked the Fist of the First Men in the season 2 finale. That wasn't the entire army. That was essentially a small strike force sent out to wipe the rangers out.

The full force was still back in the Lands of Always Winter building it's army and making White Walkers and Wights. It's the full force and the Night's King that attacks in season 5.

Aren't they also not literal seasons? But periods of hardship/ease?

The seasons are literal, but according to GRRM there's a magical as opposed to scientific explanation behind why they last so long.

They are literal seasons, this is the plot description of the first book.
Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun.

As Warden of the north, Lord Eddard Stark counts it a curse when King Robert bestows on him the office of the Hand. His honour weighs him down at court where a true man does what he will, not what he must … and a dead enemy is a thing of beauty.

The old gods have no power in the south, Stark’s family is split and there is treachery at court. Worse, the vengeance-mad heir of the deposed Dragon King has grown to maturity in exile in the Free Cities. He claims the Iron Throne

The whole storyline of GoT did get stretched. Initially book one was the war of five kings, book two was Danaerys invading with Dothraki and dragons, and book three was the Others' invasion. It had to do with the characters' ages, if I recall right.

I rewatched the masterpiece that is COBRA the other day. That tall man with the wigs was completely bald, right? Stallone might be a midget but a goo looking one at that point. Cobra on a gun. That **** will sell. A goddamn masterpiece.

Hey Jackson how have you been since the mouse kicked you off his money train?
