Oh nice one, that must be the one out on Monday in the UK then.

Episode 9 plays in the U.S. tomorrow night so I assume episode 9 plays Monday in the UK. Episode 8 would have aired this past Monday in the UK. Unless they are a week behind the U.S..

What does temporary layoffs and easy credit ripoffs have to do with House of Cards?

It's just scratching and surviving... Hangin' in a chow line. You know... good times.

Oh right. I think we're just a day behind. Great, right near season finale time.

I have said this before but... Damn, all these films take me back to my youthful days in the 80's and 90's. It's like as an adult I am reliving going down to the music store in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and going to the two racks of comics they had each week, or in High School when I lived in the Poconos and putting together my pull list at the comic shop I worked at.

Thanks to a $3 credit that Vudu gave me I was able to get Kingsman for $12. Not a bad price for a new movie. Guess I know what Ill be watching tonight.

I really liked KINGSMEN... But... Yeah, not to the extent others do. I was very much entertained and all, but was not really engaged by the lead actor or his character all that much. Dude is a physical specimen sure, but I was far more engaged by the older Kingsmen than any of Igby's stuff.

Are you a fan of Mark Millar and Matthew Vaughn's other work?

As far as his directing work, Mathew Vaughn is 5-0 as far as I'm concerned. After watching Kingsman, I wish he do a Bond film, cause I've no doubt it would be a blast but I guess after Kingsman it might seem a bit derivative. I'd welcome it tho. If EON approaches him to direct one I won't complain.

I think the only Vaughn film I wasn't in love with was Kick-Ass, but even then I thought it was a fun movie. The fact that he constantly keeps Mark Strong in work doesn't hurt either :funny:

In all honesty... Not really Lord Bolton. I ADORE the comic version of WANTED. I think it's a fantastic, wonderfully cynical take on the idea of "The VILLAIN'S Journey" and it spoke to my deep down and dirty inner geek. Truly, to really appreciate it to the fullest you have to be steeped in the world of comics both mentally and emotionally. And I think that RED SON is one of the greatest stand alone Superman alternative takes ever. But other than those two works, I almost can't stand anything else by Millar. Vaughn is fine as a director and I like stuff like STARDUST and FIRST CLASS and really feel that he will be a force to be reckoned with... But he also gave me KICKASS and... Yeah... maybe it's cuz it's Millar again, but there's way too much I just don't like in that movie on multiple levels. I will say I like Vaughn more than Millar by quite a bit and as stated, was really entertained by KINGSMEN... I just felt there were elements, such as the casting of the lead and a few other things that left me cold and thus take away from my overall rating. So I find it a solidly entertaining film, well done, but I don't like it as much as some others do around these parts.

I'm with you on Millar. Love Wanted, love Red Son, thought his Wolverine stories were pretty good...but yeah I think the guy likes to toot his own horn way too much, and it feels that he's, well, almost the Michael Bay of comics at times. Too much shock for the sake of it, style over substance. I think that's why I wasn't into Kick-Ass so much, the Millar factor seeping through Vaughn's adaptation.

Yep. Good ol Richard Brake.:)

I still think he was the best part of Hannibal Rising, and I can't wait to see them utilize him more in GoT next season. He does the creep factor amazingly well, which is fitting for guy who wandered off to have sex with a female ice demon.
