BvS It's always Darkest before The Dawn... Chris Terrio IS the Script Writer

In MOS, I got a lot of very grandiose Superman lines that I would read in a comic.

Well of course, some lines were ripped straight from the comics like Grant Morrison's All Star Superman: "You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards".

To be honest, that never really bothered me and I actually appreciated that it was very grandiose it makes Superman feel more like the epic mythological alien/otherworldly figure he is. With the sequel I expect things to be brought down to Earth a bit more and we see a bit more Clark Kent and a little less Kal-El if you know what I mean.

It may make it epic, but he and others sound corny and stiff IMO. If you liked the dialogue then fine. For my two cents though it's stiff and could be better. That is what I like to see improved.

Oh yeah! Look at him getting down Bill Cosby style! :hehe:

Yep, there's room from improvement in MOS dialogue, I'm not saying the opposite. But IMO even with that details, the acting sold me each characters of the movie and I really felt inside the movie while watching it :D
I hope in the next movie they polish and make it even better the upcoming dialogue to make a great movie. :cwink:

Agreed. Pretty much all of the dialogue from the final battle was cringe-worthy IMO.

I don't think JP is such a huge star who can have the script altered before on board.

Perhaps.....but what IF he said "if certain changes are made in certain scenes or something" than he will sign on?

It can't be beyond the realm of possibility can it?

Yep, there's room from improvement in this dialogue of course.
Agreed. Not every part was bad...just some areas that should be worked on. I, unlike others, don't have any real hate for Goyer. I think he did a fine job, so my nitpicks are really just that.

I...did not want to say that myself...so I'm glad you did! :woot:

I second that.

depends on how badly they want him and the changes he wanted.

Yeah. I mean if it came down to a few changes to the script or to the characterization of Lex Luthor (hypothetically speaking) to snag and complete a deal to bring on board actors like Phoenix, Pitt, McConaghey, or Denzel than the changes they are requesting should be done in a heartbeat! :yay:

Ok good gracious, happy we have some good writers but good gracious is anyone a fan of Superman or are all these people Batman fans?!

I am both. Mainly a Batman fan however! He is my #1 guy.....lol

Affleck is familiar with the comics. He's a big fan of Frank's The Dark Knight Returns.

Man I can't wait for the Batman reboot that will be starring, directed, and written by Affleck.

Everyone moaned and ***** about Batfleck. Is he a downgrade to Bale? Yes but what could he do? He could be involved in writing, producing, & directing DC films & Batman films. He's a good film making and writer and to me that makes up for him being a downgrade. Not saying he will suck but compared to Bale it's no lie.

Considering the skills he brings to the table on top of acting, I'm not exactly sure Affleck is a downgrade. He seems to be an upgrade even... :o

oh they're bring in the Argo screenwriter?

this reminds me of the Batman Begins days, where each breaking news were great news and made us all feel like the stars were aligning :D

Only one way this ends..(you die, or I do, making it two ways) in death!

There, I just fixed one line. Terrio will probably be rather busy :oldrazz:

The only dialogue that made me cringe in MOS was when Superman said "You're a monster Zod, and I'm going to stop you". It reminded me of similar dialogue in TDKR when Bane says "So you've come back to die with your city?" and Batman replies "No I came back to stop you". Surely someone could have come up with a better response than that.

:funny:

It's Batman, he gets straight to the point! :oldrazz:

Yeah, I laugh that everytime I see TDKR I'm like "What? lol"

Anyway don't you think it's a bit late in the game to bring another writer? Don't they start shooting like in February?

In the context of this film, that could have been replaced with: "hey son, how's it going"

"You'll never get away with this" :yay:

Unless the films are self aware, I've seen this as sort of a tradition in the genre throughout the years and in all these films from the donner exchanges to the recent bat and marvel films to even bond. I doubt it will change with this next picture. Though with goyers name seemingly replaced, it might be received more akin to the latter tdkt where less people complain about it.

When Affleck produced the town, the final exchanges had none of this. If affleck produced a studio superhero movie, I'm almost certain the film would have it here and there...like costumes it sort of comes with the material. Chris Nolan himself fell into this trap.

Maybe Jonathan Nolan.

Yeah none of the movies in the cmb genre is exempt of that phrases.

There will always be some comic book-like dialogue in a comic book film.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I didn't mean the people on this board, I meant those who are a part of this film. People keep mentioning that this writer loves this batman or this producer likes this Batman comic, seems like too many Batfans and makes me think this will turn into 90's Superman and Batman.

Having both characters depicted equally well gives you the best chance of having a great movie.

I don't know Goyer. I can't say for certain what he likes. However the evidence seems to suggest that he likes superheroes in general and not just Batman.

He's written more superman comics than batman ones. I'm sure he enjoys both to a degree.
