BvS It's always Darkest before The Dawn... Chris Terrio IS the Script Writer

Not sure why he would. He's still going to get a story credit and I doubt he minds if a stronger writer improves on his work.

Successful people often have egos and Goyer might not simply see it as a "stronger mind improving on his work".

I am kinda curious of how this came about. Did the Goyer/Snyder team realize they needed help or did WB/Affleck insist on it? It doesn't matter to me either way because I'm glad about it, but I always wonder what goes on behind the scenes.

Probably both. Fix some of the problems in the script, but also try to up the ante and make the best film they possibly could. Either way....THANK YOU BASED FLECK!

Maybe they're hoping this will help entice Phoenix to join....

Maybe Affleck wanted a re-write to have more Batman and less Superman in the movie.

Aww! You want me to cry?

It's a possibility. We really have no idea at this point. All we know is that a writer was brought in to modify Goyer's script. We don't know how big a modification this will be, what kind of modification this will be, and what motivated the desire to bring in a second writer.

I do agree that this move needed to be done. As much as I enjoyed man of steel there were a few plot holes that went unexplained like how did clark decide to become a reporter and managed to get a job at the daily planet. These are things that if warner and dc want to compete with marvel. It has to happen. I also believe that Afleck was involved in this. His career has been resurrected in the last few years. I doubt he wants to be ridiculed like he was years ago.

That's a weird statement, given that the MCU films are bursting at the seams with plot holes of various sorts.

But it could simply be that the bar is higher for DC, since they have less audience goodwill.

I think this line from Goyer makes me facepalm a little.

"One of the things that we've always tried to do with the Batman films and the Superman film is never accept something just because that's the way it's done in the comic books. That was never a good enough reason. It always had to make sense within our own universe or within the rules of our universe. So I understand why the editors at DC would say "Batman doesn't kill" or "Batman doesn't use guns"."

Sure, I think there are instances of comics employing a dated trope (Lois not knowing Superman's identity, though I'm sure that comics have her in on it). But I also think that comics should be the baseline for the formation of the movie character. And I think the question "how do I make this a MOVIE character?" is the wrong question to ask. I think it should be "how do I bring this comic character to the movies?"

But what do I know?

Marvel may have a few plot holes in there films but the general audience don't care as much as they did in man of steel. Maybe its because marvel has had an abundance of box office success lately. Even a few of us wished dc and warner brothers followed the marvel plan to build its film universe.

Not me.

Yeah, it's possible. But it's too unpleasant to face until proven true.

DC seems to be held to higher standards than Marvel. People expect simple, family-friendly movies from them. I don't wish DC to follow Marvel's formula in any way. It doesn't work out well for them whenever they try.

Please let this guy secretly be a comic book geek.

^ Goyer can provide the geekery.

Terrio can provide the knowledge of good dialogue.

Everything Goyer says makes me facepalm.

Saw MOS today. Idk, every time I see it I like it less. It keeps getting worse. Even after I first saw it, I never thought it was better than the Donner ones. Hell MOS ain't even in my top 10.

Thank you Batfleck for getting a real writer onboard. I mean if it was just Goyer & Snyder, I had no hope for the story.

Wow. That is an odd statement to make. The Marvel films have plot holes galore and are all over the place IMO.

Well Marvel made Avengers before WB/DC made Justice League. So the after Avengers there is a fallacy and myth that Marvel can do no wrong with their films which is an outright lie IMO.

Some say, it is all about the Marvel "brand"?

Yeah right, I'm not fooled by that and I don''t buy that nonsense. Especially after I seeing IM2, Captain America, IM3 and Thor 2. All of those films were not very good IMO and were all very very overrated for some weird reason.

I definitely feel there is some weird bias out there after seeing how Rotten Tomatoes had IM2, Captain America, IM3 and Thor 1 and 2, and (Superman Returns) rated better than Man of Steel?

Laughable....just laughable and utterly ridiculous.

If you watched the movie he explains to his mom that he is going to take a job where no one questions that he'd want to go where danger was...also he was hired as a stringer and not a reporter...a stringer is a freelance reporter...sort of like Peter Parker but instead of pictures it's news articles...and from the research I have done it doesn't take much to become one.

Why do you assume Affleck brought the writer onboard? Terrio has a relationship with WB.

It's also explained at the beginning of the film that's he'd forged paperwork to get a job. He could've easily done that again.
