BvS It's always Darkest before The Dawn... Chris Terrio IS the Script Writer

It's great news yes, but it doesn't automatically mean it'll be a great script.

Terrio's only had two adapted screenplays. I just don't want to build him up as a writing god in my mind when he might not know how to approach a comic book movie.

Look at Akiva Goldsman. Wrote A Beautiful Mind, A Time to Kill and The Client.

Also wrote Batman and Robin...

Still if it's Goyer's ideas and Terrio is writing dialogue and characterisation, then I think it could be a real winner.

I still think Goyer delivered a great script for MOS.

The only real problem with MOS imo was the exhausting pacing of the third act, which is the director's call.

Didn't we already know this?

I've thought for a while now that Goyer has some talent. But his talent is largely in broad-scope conception and plot ideas and his weakness is with the details and nuances of character and dialogue. This is why I've always thought he should be allow to write to his strengths, but have a partner to fill in the gaps. So, I'm pleased that we are getting someone else to work on his writing and wish we would have had that for MOS.

And Shumucker directed a Time to Kill :wow:

Call me crazy, but I think Joel could have made a good Batman movie if he wasn't pressured by WB to deliver the polar opposite of the Burton films.

I think you're probably right.

His work on Lost Boys and Flatliners would have served as a great basis for a dark and gothic take on Batman. It's a shame he went the campy route.

Joel Schumacher is a great filmmaker.

Just not with Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

(And I prefer B&R to Batman Forever, personally, I enjoy it more, Forever is my least favorite Batman movie)

Not only did Nolan secret write and direct the movie but he played all the roles
He not only wrote, directed and starred he was also was: the composer, the director of photography, the head gaffer, the guy that holds the "action slapper thing," the on hand caterer... etc..

Oh and he was all the extras.:o

The projectionist
the person who sold everyone tickets
the person who takes the ticket and points you in the direction of the theater
the person who sold you a large popcorn and large coke
the person who sweeps up the theater after everyone left

He delivered the Blu Ray to my local BEST BUY and then was the cashier when I bought it. He also stacked the cans of soup that I purchased to eat the night I brought the Blu Ray home to watch. HE'S EVERYWHERE! HE'S EVERYWHERE! HE'S SOYLENT GREEN!!! SOYLENT GREEN IS MADE OUT OF NOLAN!!! IT'S NOLAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!

What is going on with this joke? It's proliferating at an insane pace....

Goyer himself was touting Nolan's involvement in hammering out the story beats in that Empire interview.

It is kind of ironic when you think back to the original 2010 Hero Complex interview where it was announced that he and Goyer were developing a Superman movie in addition to a third Batman film, and that quote about how he sees Superman and Batman as existing in their own worlds with nothing to do with each other. When you take how strongly he felt about that into account, it's no surprise he's taking a step back now to the point where he's nowhere to be found in a long list of producers in the latest press release.

My friends and I have a saying- "Batman Forever bad". We use it to describe something that is halfway trying to be something decent while also being complete crap, thus landing in this unappealing middle ground. Those types of movies can be a real chore to watch. Green Lantern is another example of Batman Forever bad.

B&R can at least be fun under the right circumstances. :cwink:

I think everyone probably has at least one Schumacher movie they really like though. Mine's Phone Booth.

Nolan is also actually the only person to have seen the movie. He is the one who bought all the tickets and saw it in multiple theaters at multiple times resulting in its gross.

He is also the only person to have reviewed the movie under
different pen names.

He is also the only person to discuss the movie on the internet under various usernames.

Full disclosure, I am Nolan and slumcat is just an alias.

Anyone else think that Argo's script sucked donkey balls?

I don't know about donkey balls, but I don't think the script was its strong point so much as directing.

Being and inanimate object I wonder how a script performs ******io on a burro?

So lets start the chorus...

Lanno Lanno Lanno Lanno Lanno Lanno... !!! :o

I haven't seen Argo, so I can't comment.

However, it won Best Picture and Best Screenplay at several awards ceremonies, so the script couldn't have been that bad.

Why have you created us?

No I thought Argo was a very good film and had some very truly intense moments in it. Remember they had to work within the confines of it being an actual true story too. But yeah when Affleck finally got to Tehran and they had that contrasting shot of the KFC on one side of the street and the body hanging from a light post on the other side of the street I thought yeah that's an awesome shot. I felt throughout that the threat to their safety was real. the characters felt real. I recommend it to anyone.

Now we have a good film.

Superman/Batman has walked into the building as it could be one of the best CBM of all time. After you Batfleck.

Nice jumping to conclusions there...Terrio is still relatively unproven with screenplays and superheroes, but who knows? He could be good or bad. We'll just have to wait and see.

But to say he'll automatically be good because the project doesn't involve Goyer anymore is blind optimism.
