Well, they're keeping him under wraps for certain.

He looks good.

From the brief screenshot we got in the trailer of him I thought he looked great, and actually looked made of rock.

Agreed , Looked more legit than tim story's version but as usual the whole " CGI vs practical suit " will be brought up, some people are acting pissy about his CGI already (split second clip) :whatever: I do have to laugh sometimes.

The fact they didn't show him does worry me. Hope the design itself is good.

I know a rock creature is different to create than skin texture like Hulk.

So Thing wasn't the green monstrosity in the picture after all? Or is it? He is definitely orange in the movie, so that's something.

It's essentially the same as that picture. Naked and all.

He's just not green.

CG was the way they should've gone in 2005. He looked like memory foam in that ****ing movie.

Wonder if he says "It's Clobberin' Time" when he's at the plate or something.

Billy Elliot's grown up. But he still ain't no Ben Grimm :argh:

I have to agree. I like Bell, but he has to be the worst miscasting of the entire movie.

While it was clearly a costume I actually liked the look of the Thing in those movies. Still kinda miss Chiklis as Thing.

Ben in comic books is both tragic, but also a humorous character. I wonder if in the future with a different reboot if they will ever cast a comedian as Ben? We fans tend to think of Ben as just a tough guy with a heart of gold, but I wonder if an actor with strong comedic chops could really bring out both sides, tragic and fun, in a live action film?

Bell is hot. Too bad he's the Thing. What a tragedy.

The visual effects we saw in the teaser were pretty good. Hopefully they got the face right , but I'm not worried based on what I saw.

Checked imdb, looks like Weta and MPC are doing all the effects. Thing should look great.

VFX just weren't up to par then to do that cheaply. And they were never gonna pour enough money into it to get it where its, at least, acceptable.

While the final image shows the Thing as an imposing figure made of rock, hopefully they get some of the his other defining features right (brow, hands and feet).

My only real takeaway from the teaser though is diminished hopes of ever seeing a classic Thing vs. Hulk fight on the big screen.

Loved the shot of him breaking free from the rock.

Got a theory that after the experiment goes to hell they bring that to the Lab thinking its a rock from the Negative-Zone then he comes to life revealing himself to be Ben after they thought he was dead or lost behind

Yeah, I dont get the CGI shouts, the movie is over 6 months away, plenty of time to fix it up. I like what I am seeing with the design though. The Story version just never convinced me that it wasnt a guy in a suit, he LOOKED plastic and fake to me. Hopefully this version wont, I have high hopes based on the quick images we got.
