I know they said they are going with a new cast, so obviously Peter and MJ will be recast. But it might be a possibility that certain roles could go to the same actors. Who else thinks that JK Simmons should still be JJJ in the new movies? He was a spot on portrayal of the comics. Of all super hero movies, I would argue only Gary Oldman as Comissioner Gordon is as good of a casting choice in relation to the comics. I really hope to see JK Simmons return.

I would too. But then it's not a "reboot" anymore.

Oh Sony you're so brilliant.

They can easily recast the role.

They're probably going to go for a much less cartoony approach to the character, vs a more realistic portrayal.

I for one hope they keep J.K.Simmons, he is basically JJ, I don't see anyone else who could pull it off.

It owuld be great if they kept him the guy was spot on. I would be a suprise if they did though.

If they want a much less cartoony direction ....he definitely wouldn't fit.

He's very much a product of Sam's take on the material.

It will be an entirely new cast.

They're definitley going to recast from the ground up. It would be ridiculous to recast all the major players, put them back in high school, then have the same JJJ, Aunt May, etc.

If it's going to work, it's gotta be a completely fresh take on the universe.

I want somebody far less goofy than JK Simmons. Somebody that can actually talk like a regular human and can ben part of the stories in a three-dimensional way yet still still carry that spunk that we know of. Michael Keaton would be great as JJ.

 I wouldn't mind keeping J.K. Simmons, but Michael Keaton would be awesome.

He was the best, J.K., it will be so hard recasting JJ.

What if they kept him, and made some joke about it in the film.
Like we see all the new actors playing all the characters from the Daily Bugle and JK looks up and says, "Hmm. Something seems different."

Simmons HAS to come back. No question about it. There is no other JJJ.

Judi Dench came back in the Bond reboot, so I don't see why Simmons can't come back.

He wasn't the best, he was a damn goof. Also I think JK Simmons is a terrible actor.

I think Alan Arkin could play a very good JJ.

I have a hard time imagining anyone other than Simmons in the role. Like an above post said, they kept Judi Dench as M.

JJJ from Ultimate is my guess

younger, more serious.

If they're doing Spider-Man the teenage years, then it's likely we won't even see JJJ in the series.

JJ was in the Spider-Man comics from the very beginning. He has always been a central character. Peter sold him Spidey photos all the while being Spider-Man and going to high school, to help pay for things at home.

I honestly can't believe people act like they hate this series so much now. When Spiderman first came out, one of the favorites amongst fans was the portrayal of J Jonah Jameson, now he's too cartoony or goofy? C'mon now, if that wasn't JJ ripped straight out of the comics, I don't know what was

It's not like only Ultimate JJ was very serious. 616 Jonah is serious too, he's been turned into comedy relief in the Spider-Man movies and Spectacular Jonah is an even goofier version of Movie Jonah.
