TVGuide.com: What's your feeling on 3? Judging by the trailers, it looks darker.
Simmons: I think it pulls in a lot of interesting directions. Of course we're a long ways from seeing a final version of it, but my stuff, we had a lot of fun doing. I probably had not as much to do as I did in the second one and maybe a little more than I had in the first one, but from what I saw the new bad-guy stuff is once again going to top its predecessor.

TVGuide.com: In 2, we met Jonah's son, who in Spider-Man lore evolves into a villain. But they're not playing that card yet?
Simmons: Not yet. Hopefully there are plenty of cards to play for [Parts] 4, 5, 6.... I'll do a Spider-Man for every two or three years for the next couple decades if they want. That'd be all right!

TVGuide.com: Was there any talk of Spider-Man 4 on the set?
Simmons: Yeah, it got mentioned. In fact, the last couple of days I shot was at the very end of the schedule — we were doing some night-action scenes in New York — and [director] Sam [Raimi] was talking about it. It's not a done deal because everybody's deals, including Sam Raimi's and all the actors', was for three pictures. But he's certainly open to doing more.

.... So much for anyone thinking that their just gonna stop at 3, eh? ;)

damn good find dude!

Freakin AWESOME!! gives us hope. they should only do it if they get all the same actors and director back though...

Excellent.

Him as J. Jonah Jameson has to be THE most on-point casting EVER.

Yeah, he's perfect for that role.^

Nice find!

Yeah, I agree with you.

Even though I'd desperately hope they try to hang onto the cast they have now....

If Raimi stayed aboard like this interview implied, I think I'd actually be able to deal with recasting. :o Obviously it'd still be preferrable to keep the current cast as is, but Raimi's the most important element that makes these movies what they are, IMO.

But in any case, I do seriously doubt we'll ever see J.J. recast, which is definitely a good thing. ;)

I agree with everything, Raimi is the most important.

And I'm happy we'll always have the same J.J.J., kinda like alfred in the batmans until michael caine

Thanks. :) He's my guard dog. :p

Well I think thats great that Sam wants to hang around. To me I think some underestimate Sam still. I always believed he has more in store for us then we think. I have a feeling that there are so many villians and so much complexity in three is because:

A. He needs to wrap up the Harry/MJ/First trilogy part.
B. Maybe leave room to do three more films.

Now honestly I hope sill that they do kill off MJ, so that recasting won't really have to take place. I think Tobey and Sam have a close enough relationship that if Sam stays I'm sure almost the rest of the cast will stay as well.

Agreed, I could live with Gwen replacing MJ(assuming she gwen doesn't die and BDH signed on or is willing to do more), plus I never really liked Kirsten that much to begin with. If Tobey leaves it would be a massive blow but I do think that they would be able to survive with Raimi.

Yea I can't stand Dunst, the Spider-man movies put her in the A list, and now she thinks she's too good for them and deserves more money then anyone else when she usually just screams and sits around.

You can tell she is stuck up. I know some want to keep MJ but I say rid of her for the sake of the next three films and just keep Bryce. I like Blondes better any who :)

Awesome,I knew Raimi wanted to make S-M4.Glad to hear that J.K. Simmons wants to stay as long as he can.And his interview also confirmed that Man-Wolf will not be the fourth villain in S-M3.

Well we already knew that the people in charge wanted the franchise to go further than 3. It's good to hear that Simons & Raimi at least are interested in the 4th.

Looks like the Lizard may not be in S-M3 now,if Raimi plans on making S-M4.

I hope that we get an official announcement from sam at comic con saying that if spider-man 4 gets greenlighted, hes onboard

Don't worry, it's not like he's hiding under your bed or anything. :)

:o

Since it looks like Raimi is planting seeds in the movie by giving Dr.Connors some major screen time to set up the Lizard for S-M4,do you think this mysterious fourth villain will just be a cameo villain only for S-M3,or will it be another seed to set him up to be a villain in S-M4 as well?

I think he'll just be a cameo villain, probably with less screen time than Venom
