J.K. Simmons on Spidey 3

I pretty much knew SOny could keep all the minor characters at the bugle to come back for more... the only question marks are the big three... I honestly wouldn't mind if they had to recast Tobey and Dunst but kept almost everyone else... I understand their prices will be too high and it's time to move on eventually... bring on Jake and Dushku... keep everyone else.

I really dont understand why they didnt just film 3 and 4 back-to-back...a couple more months of work frees everyone up to persue other interests and projects for the next few YEARS.

Anyway; Glad to see Simmons is on board for any and all sequels. That man's the one true gem of the Spidey movie franchise, imo...

They didn't have the budget... let this go already... at least we get to see Venom now instead of three years later...

Simmons on Spider-Man 3 & More Sequels
Source: TV Guide
July 17, 2006

J.K. Simmons talked to TV Guide about returning as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man 3 and possibly making more sequels. Simmons says he wrapped filming two or three weeks ago.

TVGuide.com: What's your feeling on 3? Judging by the trailers, it looks darker.
Simmons: I think it pulls in a lot of interesting directions. Of course we're a long ways from seeing a final version of it, but my stuff, we had a lot of fun doing. I probably had not as much to do as I did in the second one and maybe a little more than I had in the first one, but from what I saw the new bad-guy stuff is once again going to top its predecessor.

TVGuide.com: In 2, we met Jonah's son, who in Spider-Man lore evolves into a villain. But they're not playing that card yet?
Simmons: Not yet. Hopefully there are plenty of cards to play for [Parts] 4, 5, 6.... I'll do a Spider-Man for every two or three years for the next couple decades if they want. That'd be all right!

TVGuide.com: Was there any talk of Spider-Man 4 on the set?
Simmons: Yeah, it got mentioned. In fact, the last couple of days I shot was at the very end of the schedule — we were doing some night-action scenes in New York — and [director] Sam [Raimi] was talking about it. It's not a done deal because everybody's deals, including Sam Raimi's and all the actors', was for three pictures. But he's certainly open to doing more.

This is Freakin AWESOME!! I hope they all come back for 4, 5 & 6

I really think Raimi is gonna keep on trucking with with Spidey films. BUT as long as they find someone half as creative as him years down the line, I wouldn't mind ressurecting the franchise a couple years after Raimi's last one, as long as it keeps with the same tone.

Bring in Joel Schumacher and the beloved nipple suit!

This is what I was saying from the beginning. They're not gonna stop at 3! Only noobie losers who are in love with trilogies think that!

Ummm, no I didn't think that, I said the opposite to all you morons who kept saying "Oh 3 is the last, 3 should be the last" and blah blah blah!

If Raimi makes "The Wee Free Men" after S-M3,and it takes 4 or 5 years for S-M4 to come out, then he should make S-M4,S-M5,and S-M6 all at the same time.Otherwise Tobey will be 36 when S-M4 comes out,39 when S-M5 comes out,and 42 when S-M6 comes out.

That J.K. Simmons interview basically confirmed Man-Wolf and the Lizard won't be in S-M3,so who do you think will be the fourth villain now?If Raimi has Bruce Campbell play Mysterio, then that means Bruce Campbell may not be in anymore spidey movies after S-M3.

The ONLY way id like to see a 4th is if Raimi came back, and with that article, it looks as if hed be game.

PS: Weir, it appears as if you, are the definition of "noobie loser". So before u go throwin names around, check ur self bucko.

Rrrrright, well in that case, iv been here longer than you as i just never bothered to register until '05. Please man, got any others???

He even said Raimi is up to doing more, that really made me happy. Unless they recast Spider-Man or Tobey is up to doing one more.

Oh, please! Sony made enough money off the first movie alone to finance THREE sequels, nevermind the profit they also made with the second movie. And regardless, im pretty sure the Spider-Man franchise has "good credit" with Sony Pictures.

I suspect that Raimi will be back for at least SM4, maybe more- as either director or producer or both.

I also suspect that in addition to JK Simmons, Tobey and Kirstin will be back as well. :)

I hope so.:o:up:

Why are we so optimistic all of a sudden... Tobey is still 50 % at best... and what story is left other than Lizard? I'd prefer they go in another direction but keeping Raimi is smart... I still say recast the main actors if they go through 4-6 now itself so the frnachise doesn't slowly digress with more and more cast changes...

I hope this movie they play J.J's ******* side a little more. I mean we get mostly him being a jerk/funny man, but I hope this one they show Spidey slugging him across the face for being a prick to him over the years. :spidey:

I wouldn't mind a new director after 3. Raimi has done a good job, but has been deficient with some aspects of the mythos. Maybe someone else could fill in those gaps.

what 400 million dollars is peanuts??? that's what Sony would have been looking at... prolly a lot more actually...

Raimi has done an awesome job. Although some gaps would be gained, a hell of a lot would be lost.

^Yep,we would lose more than what we would gain.
