James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 5

I don't like ranking the Bonds, it just seem mean-spirited. None of them, including Brosnan and Lazenby, did an especially poor job of it, to be honest. I will say Connery is still my favorite, but if Craig keeps knocking it out of the park like this, by 2020 my opinon could change.

Yeah. The role's no more actor proof than the Doctor

So
Waltz's character IS indeed Blofeld or akin to the Manderin kerfluffle?

"Blofeld" is an alias that Waltz's character uses to remain anonymous whilst controlling SPECTRE. So, it's not quite the same as the Mandarin twist.

I must've missed it but what's with this new Blofeld rumor? Was it leaked or is it just speculation?

I light of the leaks I wonder if Logan, Purvis and Wade will be forced to do re-writes at the last minute before filming commences

Supposedly it's something that got leaked with the big Sony hack.

well, filming commenced this Monday so there's a limit on what can be done. Personally I do hope that they alter some of the stuff with Blofeld, just because the motivation sounded quite weird.

According to the leaks, what were his motivations?

Edit: Just found and ready, these motivations sound realy ridiculous
That supposedly leaked plot gives me some
Iron Man 3
vibes. It makes
Blofeld
sound so petty it's ridiculous.

I disagree

Killian in Iron Man 3 had been influenced by his encounter with Tony, but he wasn't directly taking revenge on him for that, Stark Industries just ended up being in his way, along with Pepper, Rhodes and Tony himself.

lot of stuff in these so called "leaks" don't make sense and I don't believe Mendes and Craig would do this

Agreed. The villains motivation sounds like something from a bad 80's B-movie action film and doesn't make sense.

the 'leak' that came out..did it come out from a random twitter account that claimed it was real? It's a fake.

It was posted on twitter but that's not where it originated from. It originated elsewhere with a bunch of other leaked Sony material. Other emails in the grouping also talk about the budget (which CNN and others officially covered).

A few Bond aficionados over at Commander Bond's forum say how the emails look and are written match what other leaked documents have been put out there that they've personally seen. Can't say for myself as this is the only leaked material I was interested in. Horrid grammar aside, the leaked documents may have been slightly scrambled or used code words as well, at least according to a screen writer over there.

For the record, the majority of them highly believe it to be real and from the first several drafts solely by Logan, before Mendes apparently "begged" Purvis & Wade back for rewrites.

Also for the record, there are posters over there whom also had access to Casino and Quantum's scripts and knew about key plot points a month or so into the filming of both films so I trust their judgment. To quote a poster over there;

Having worked enough in the industry to understand how the script development process works, I can tell you there's absolutely nothing out of the ordinary about the style, tone, or construction of the feedback in these leaks. If they're fakes, they're excellent. They read almost suspiciously too well. They resemble countless script note emails I've seen, heard about, or - in several cases - received myself. All written by individuals at (minimum) a producer level.

I think the core of the movie will resemble the leaked details, but I can see where they'll change things.
For example I think Purvis and Wade added a big plot for Bond to foil, 'something he is about to unleash that Bond can thwart', as is said, rather than it just all being about a document.

I like the ending, if they keep it. Bond throwing his gun into the river and driving off ala Iron Man 3. Blofeld apparently dead and that CR/QoS/SF era closed. But of course, I think Blofeld would re-emerge in Bond 25 and with it, Bond as well.
Recommendations are listed on the leaked pages, so I wouldn't be getting too worried here. It's the drafting process.

Or something bigger for Bond to to be dragged out of retirement for. I'm just tired of everything in this era becoming 'personal'. Why in Gods name can't it just be a random mission with no ties to Bond or his past or his losses? It's done to death already in this Craig era and they need to move on to another plot device already. Taking Blofeld, the Joker of the Bond universe and essentially turning him into a bratty, angry little ***** with daddy issues invokes a lot of nerd rage in my soul.

Why nerd rage? Bond is for nerds? Did Ian Fleming know what nerds were back in his day? :o

Not yet sure how I feel about the leaked plot points.

I wonder what tone they are going for with this movie.

I really don't like the leaked plot details
They are trying to retcon all the films since the reboot into a ongoing story like spectre was in early films but it sounds dumb

I hate blofeld's motivation.Terrable too Blofeld is just an alias instead of other name being alias

They still apparently won't have the tradional bond heronie so they can give moneypenny a large role

Killing off tanner?

The ending is just lame. This sounds like a Dark knight rises type ending which would require another reboot to continue yet we know Craig will do another film after this

It would be ironic if these came from john Logan's draft and purvis & Wade improved on it.

Please. QOS was amputated by the writer's strike. I wouldn't slight Haggis for that even though I don't hold him in high regards.

well he was primary writer on QoS so he doesn't have perfect batting record.
He wrote one of drafts yes but then again there's this duo called Purvis and Wade.
No, actually Marc Forster brought in his fave writer during the writer's strike.
And he literally wrote the lines with Craig on set. A true story.

I was excited to see Spectre again and a return to serialized storytelling, but not as much with the idea that it will all be concluded in here with yet another personal story. I think they should go with the classic episodic stories and build into the main storyline, i would like 1 or 2 more films after this one before Spectre's conclusion.

^ And looks like Mendes & Logan do not agree with you. and myself.
