James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 5

New major spoilers have leaked. Including the fates of two characters.

The common link between Le Chiffre, Green, Silva and the deaths of Vesper and M are all tied to Franz Oberhauser (acting under the alias of Blofeld) who created SPECTRE as a means to enact revenge against James Bond because he grew up believing that his own father preferred James to himself, creating a never-ending hatred towards Bond. He dedicates himself to making sure James never has a life because he feels he was deprived of one and plans to publicly disgrace Bond by framing him for his father's murder. However, over the course of running SPECTRE, Oberhauser has now become addicted to the strength and power his organization has given him. SPECTRE has been manipulating political strings, only communicating through telephones and delivering political favors of any nature to the heads of different countries (extortion, assassinations, ect) in exchange for more power.

Felix Leiter is in the film in a small, cameo-esque role.

- The leak in MI6 is revealed to have come (mistakenly) from Tanner. Bond, as a favor, allows him to commit suicide rather than be publicly humiliated.

- Yes, there is a cat.

- Mr. White is in the film and is revealed to be a high ranking member of SPECTRE who was personally overseeing the operations into destroying Bond.

- Bond and M have several meetings. One in the beginning of the film where M chews Bond out and humiliates him in front of a lot of MI6 agents as well as later in the film after the MI6 leak in the middle of the night in a cemetary.

- Q gets abducted by SPECTRE and is tortured for Bond's location. He also has a very classic introductory scene in the film.

- There is a very classic feeling fist/gun fight aboard a train between Bond and Hinx.

- Bond/Moneypenny during their detective work in Tagiers find a photograph of Vesper and Blofeld/Oberhauser together.

- MI5 is trying to merge with and take over MI6.

- The film ends with Blofeld/Oberhauser dead and Bond wounded. In the hospital, Moneypenny tells him now that all of the prior events (of the Craig saga) are a closed book, perhaps he should finally "get a life". The final scene is Bond tossing his pistol into a river and driving off, seemingly retired.

This is going to make us see the previous Craig films in a whole new light.

Edit:Already posted on a previous page but Ill leave this here for this page.
in a bad way, you mean.
Srsly Mr. White's [BLACKOUT]daughter[/BLACKOUT]?
But thank God they had been working out. but will they?

If I had to make an educated guess about how the finished product of the film is going to look, I would say...

Note: These are simply my expectations from all 20 something leaked documents, emails and script pages I have managed to read over the course of the past few days before they were promptly taken offline. They are, in no way, official unless stated.

- The first two acts of the film are more than likely going to stay relatively as is with little things trimmed and cut, such as the Tanner/suicide plot now officially having been removed and replaced with another character acting as the MI6 mole.
- Blofeld/Oberhauser's resentment, anger and jealousy of James Bond and their linked past will stay but will be heavily downplayed, as wished by several Sony execs. The character will show these emotions but it will not be the driving force behind SPECTRE and the overall evil plot SPECTRE no doubt will be trying to execute throughout the course of the film.
- The ending of the film will reflect Bond putting his past demons to rest more so than 'retiring.' The tossing of the gun into the river will more than likely remain but the meaning behind the action will undoubtedly be changed. After all, they end every film with the famous words 'James Bond Will Return.' This time will still remain no different.

What's wrong with
Mr. White having a daughter?
Lot's of men do.

Hmmm, Tanner going out in the field. I think that's a first.

It also kind of works as a nice homage to
Tracy. The daughter of a criminal being the one whom Bond genuinely falls for and settles down with (however briefly it'll be).
It'll make Bond 25 very interesting, especially if they go down the YOLT path for what will be likely Craig's last.

Bond needs to tell Tanner to look at the flowers ;)

Hmmm, Tanner going out in the field. I think that's a first.

Not the field, at least not really, wide shots of the shoot show that they are driving past the MI6 building at Vauxhall Cross. I wonder what this means for the MI6's digs in the new film, does it mean they are back in Vauxhall Cross? I wonder what this means for the awesome old school offices brought back at the end of Skyfall? Maybe the Vauxhall building in the background is just an homage to the past.

It's sad to see that Craig appears to be back in the same super skinny suits from Skyfall based on what we can see of his pants. Part of me hopes they just look that tight because the wind is blowing them right up against Craig's legs. On a positive note though, Bond's new overcoat is gorgeous. It is the same overall cut as the one in Skyfall, but is detailed like a true chesterfield this time, with a contrasting velvet collar and fly front (ie. hidden buttons). Very classy (although I still like the navy overcoat from Quantum of Solace a little better, as I did just have my tailor make me a replica of it :oldrazz:).

I hope Tanner has a bigger role in the movie. Mendes in the Skyfall commentary mentioned he would like to see more of him. Love Rory Kinnear so he deserves it.

Why do Bond and Blofeld need a "personal connection" at all? Seriously, this sounds like "The Joker killed Batman's parents" levels of dumb. Attention Hollywood, you do not need to have some secret connection from the past in order to make archenemies archenemies. It's pointless and dumb. And killing off Blofeld/destroying SPECTRE after only one film also still sounds like a complete waste.

As for Mr. White having a daughter, and Bond falling for her, honestly I'm fine with it. Someone mentioned that it could be a homage to Tracy, and that's a good point. I just hope that, if it does happen, that she's mentioned/referenced every now and then in future films like Tracy was.

It's not IF they'll do THAT scene it's only a matter of when.

Spoilers for the revised draft.

In Mexico, James Bond (Daniel Craig) assassinates corrupt businessman Marco Sciarra and retrieves his ring, bearing the symbol of an octopus, before returning to London, where he is reprimanded by M (Ralph Fiennes) for his recklessness. Bond notices there's surveillance cameras in the new office. Intelligence official Bruce Denbigh (Andrew Scott), also known as "C", is advocating for England's secret services to be merged under one program codenamed "Nine Eyes", scrapping the 00 Section in the process, and Bond's actions have led credence to his campaign. A vote to decide the approval of Nine Eyes is to held in Tokyo in a few days.

Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) visits Bond in his apartment to give him a box of his belongings from Skyfall Manor, among them a picture of Bond with his foster family and a message left by M (Judi Dench) revealing evidence that Sciarra was a member of a mysterious organization behind a series of terrorist attacks across the globe. Bond convinces Moneypenny to help him stop them.

The following day, Bond and Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear) visit the Q-Branch underneath the abandoned MI6 office at Whitehall, which is scheduled for demolition. Q (Ben Whishaw) injects Bond with a nanotechnological device that allows MI6 to trace him through his blood on M's behalf. Q gives Bond 48h to pursue his lead on the organization, while M is in Tokyo for the Nine Eyes summit. Bond gives Moneypenny a cellphone to keep in contact, steals a modified Aston Martin DB-10 and travels to Rome, where he attends Sciarra's funeral and seduces his widow, Lucia Sciarra (Monica Belucci), into giving him the password to a meeting between the leaders of SPECTRE, led by Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz). Oberhauser mentions "The Pale King" in Mondsee, Austria, before spotting Bond, who flees.

While being chased by Oberhauser's enforcer, Hinx (Dave Bautista), Bond contacts Moneypenny, who identifies the "Pale King" as Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), a former Quantum member who lives in Mondsee. Bond evades Hinx and heads there, while in Tokyo, all present countries vote in favor of Nine Eyes except for South Africa. M points out the vote has to be unnanimous, but C is certain that Nine Eyes will be approved. M learns that Bond has gone rogue and Q travels to Austria to warn Bond. M informs Moneypenny that Bond's actions have further damaged MI6's reputation.

Bond arrives at Mr. White's estate and finds him dying after Oberhauser has decided to disavow him. Mr. White bargains for Bond to protect his daughter, Madeline Swann (Lea Seydoux), in exchange for Swann leading him to the L'American Hotel where he'll find information about Oberhauser. Hinx finds out Bond is going after Madeline. Bond meets Q at the secluded health clinic for the wealthy where Madeline works and gives him Sciarra's ring before approaching Madeline, who is then kidnapped by Hinx and his men. Bond rescues her and they return to Q's hotel, where Q learns from a data storaging device embedded in Sciarra's ring that he was a member of SPECTRE, which has bankrolled Quantum and is behind Le Chiffre, Dominic Greene and Raoul Silva. Reports come in of a bombing in South Africa that has led the government to reconsider their stance on Nine Eyes. The program is approved, with C as its commander, and M and his employees, including Moneypenny and Q, are fired.

Bond and Madeline arrive at the L'American and flirt. Bond finds a secret room belonging to Mr. White, who had been assigned by Oberhauser to a series of operations that affected Bond directly, tipping Bond to Oberhauser's true identity. Bond finds a map to Oberhauser's hideout in Sahara. Bond and Madeline board a train to Tangier, where Bond is attacked by Hinx, who ends up being killed. Bond and Madeline have sex and fall in love.

In Tangier, Bond and Madeline are welcomed by Oberhauser's butler, who drives them to his state in Sahara. Bond recognizes Oberhauser as his foster brother, who murdered his father out of jealousy for believing he favored Bond. Oberhauser controls a network of spy-satellites that allows him to monitor the entire planet through surveillance cameras, including MI6, and mastermind terrorist attacks for profit.

Bond and Madeline escape and reach Oberhauser's control center. Bond contacts Q, who teaches him how to sabotage it, leading to an explosion that destroys Oberhauser's estate. Bond and Madeline return to London with evidence that C was in league with Oberhauser and M agrees to help them despite MI6 having already been decommissioned. Bond the infiltrates C's office and attempts to arrest him, but C draws a gun, forcing Bond to kill him.

Suddenly, Oberhauser, who survived albeit heavily disfigured, causes a citywide blackout to lure Bond into a final confrontation at the old MI6 office in Whitehall, which is rigged to explode in a matter of minutes. Bond infiltrates the building and kills Oberhauser's men before confronting Oberhauser underground. He reveals that Madeline is being held captive atop the building, and Bond leaves to rescue her while Oberhauser departs in a helicopter. Bond and Madeline manage to escape before the building collapses and chase after Oberhauser's helicopter, which Bond manages to shoot down with a flare. Bond confronts Oberhauser as he crawls out of the wreckage of the helicopter, but chooses to spare him, in the process addressing him by his childhood name: Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

In the aftermath, Blofeld is arrested alongside the other members of SPECTRE, Nine Eyes is decomissioned, M is reinstated as head of the MI6 and Bond and Madeline leave together to enjoy a vacation.

So they might doing the "Bond goes rogue" plotline AGAIN. AND we have the obvious "rival guy turns out to be evil" thing with Andrew Scott's character. Fantastic. :csad:

Weak. Seriously. They better rework this.

Doesn't Bond also
[BLACKOUT]throw away his gun, seemingly forsaking his trade?[/BLACKOUT]

Agreed. Plus, "Bond and Mi6 have to justify their place in the world and M defends them in a hearing" plots just happened in the previous movie.

Not anymore.

Early in the movie, Bond steals the Aston Martin DB-10 from Q-Branch, which had originally been assigned to 009, and leaves Q a bottle of champagne for compensation.

In the end, Q catches Bond sneaking around the Q-Branch, gives him a "oh, you" look and tosses him the keys to the new Aston Martin DB-9. Cut to Bond and Madeline speeding off into the sunset.

Why can't we get a simple Bond film again with M being M, Moneypenny being Moneypenny, Bond traversing all around the globe bedding women casually, no strings attached, and completing a mission without a personal association.

It's time to bring some of that back. I've no problem with depth and drama, but not when they blatantly repeat ideas like this.

Exactly. QoS was an unnecessary rehash of CR in many ways. It seems as if Spectre will do the same with Skyfall.

God, the Obenhauser thing sounds so stupid.

They fought to get the rights of Blofeld and Spectre back for....this? I sincerely hope it plays better than it reads. [BLACKOUT]Bond's arch nemesis Blofied is just a childhood name long abandoned? [/BLACKOUT]Ugh.
