Not a fan of certain details, but this draft sounds a lot better than the last, although I agree about certain details seeming repetitive. However,
it all comes down to execution. The stuff about C and MI5 could be more nuanced than we believe and rather than be a repeat of Skyfall, a continuation of its themes - the idea that in the modern information age intelligence agencies will always be under intense scrutiny.

They fought to get the rights of Blofeld and Spectre back for....this? I sincerely hope it plays better than it reads. [BLACKOUT]Bond's arch nemesis Blofied is just a childhood name long abandoned? [/BLACKOUT]Ugh.

Sometimes how something is phrased can change it's whole perception...
[blackout] Blofeld is Blofeld, just like the character Fleming created and is the head of SPECTRE. "Childhood name" is actually his birth name, real name. Franz Oberhauser is just a cover like how he was Count De Bleuchamp in OHMSS and Grunther von Shatterhand in YOLT, it's his classic MO. As I understand the only iffy thing for some is the fact that Bond knew Blofeld when they were teens, they had the same foster father although from the sound of things that won't be dwelled on that much, it's more a convenient coincidence rather than the main motivation for Blofeld. It's kinda like the thing with Henri Ducard/Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins, they took the character of Blofeld and combined him with elements of the Oberhauser character from Octopussy who was kinda a surrogate father to Bond. And it makes sense that Bond leaves him alive at the end, they could always use him again at some point or perhaps they already have something in mind for Bond 25. [/blackout]

That's how I choose to look at it. Either way I like the sound of the climatic sequence. I'm really looking forward to SPECTRE. I read the script for CR before that film came out and it's my favorite Craig Bond so far but from what I've seen I think SPECTRE has a very good chance to change that.

Okay, SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS the shooting outline for the script has leaked. While
Blofeld still has that connection to Bond, it's underplayed.
However,
Blofeld lives, and the ending makes a potential perfect cliffhanger / remake for OHMSS, with classic Blofeld being up for a return.

I just read the updated synopsis of the current script, and I like it a lot more. [BLACKOUT]I like that Blofeld escapes, and is disfigured![/BLACKOUT]

The only thing I'm iffy about is the villain's connection to Bond. But I think the movie has real potential, especially playing out visually. The cast is solid, and the locations lovely. I'm still eager.

Yes, its quite a turn-around. A lot of the issues they have seemingly fixed, a few of the things the writers wanted but the Sony execs didn't feel would play well (and were on par with our feelings towards them as well) have been corrected or heavily downplayed and that new ending... :woot:

My faith has been fully restored in this film.

Yeah, the changes are good. There are lots of action scenes in there, and typical Bond attitude.
Seducing the wife of a dead SPECTRE agent. Attending a SPECTRE meeting undercover. Stealing a new Aston. Seeing Bond's new London flat. Falling in love with a gangster's daughter is very OHMSS. Taking down a helicopter with a flare ala A View to A Kill's PTS. I like that Q has a large role, and that M is very stern ala Bernard Lee but perhaps moreso. The finale is better because it doesn't come off as Bond jaded and retiring, but simply being happy. I can definitely see Blofeld coming back in Bond 25.

Spoilers for the revised draft.

In Mexico, James Bond (Daniel Craig) assassinates corrupt businessman Marco Sciarra and retrieves his ring, bearing the symbol of an octopus, before returning to London, where he is reprimanded by M (Ralph Fiennes) for his recklessness. Bond notices there's surveillance cameras in the new office. Intelligence official Bruce Denbigh (Andrew Scott), also known as "C", is advocating for England's secret services to be merged under one program codenamed "Nine Eyes", scrapping the 00 Section in the process, and Bond's actions have led credence to his campaign. A vote to decide the approval of Nine Eyes is to held in Tokyo in a few days.

Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) visits Bond in his apartment to give him a box of his belongings from Skyfall Manor, among them a picture of Bond with his foster family and a message left by M (Judi Dench) revealing evidence that Sciarra was a member of a mysterious organization behind a series of terrorist attacks across the globe. Bond convinces Moneypenny to help him stop them.

The following day, Bond and Bill Tanner (Rory Kinnear) visit the Q-Branch underneath the abandoned MI6 office at Whitehall, which is scheduled for demolition. Q (Ben Whishaw) injects Bond with a nanotechnological device that allows MI6 to trace him through his blood on M's behalf. Q gives Bond 48h to pursue his lead on the organization, while M is in Tokyo for the Nine Eyes summit. Bond gives Moneypenny a cellphone to keep in contact, steals a modified Aston Martin DB-10 and travels to Rome, where he attends Sciarra's funeral and seduces his widow, Lucia Sciarra (Monica Belucci), into giving him the password to a meeting between the leaders of SPECTRE, led by Franz Oberhauser (Christoph Waltz). Oberhauser mentions "The Pale King" in Mondsee, Austria, before spotting Bond, who flees.

While being chased by Oberhauser's enforcer, Hinx (Dave Bautista), Bond contacts Moneypenny, who identifies the "Pale King" as Mr. White (Jesper Christensen), a former Quantum member who lives in Mondsee. Bond evades Hinx and heads there, while in Tokyo, all present countries vote in favor of Nine Eyes except for South Africa. M points out the vote has to be unnanimous, but C is certain that Nine Eyes will be approved. M learns that Bond has gone rogue and Q travels to Austria to warn Bond. M informs Moneypenny that Bond's actions have further damaged MI6's reputation.

Bond arrives at Mr. White's estate and finds him dying after Oberhauser has decided to disavow him. Mr. White bargains for Bond to protect his daughter, Madeline Swann (Lea Seydoux), in exchange for Swann leading him to the L'American Hotel where he'll find information about Oberhauser. Hinx finds out Bond is going after Madeline. Bond meets Q at the secluded health clinic for the wealthy where Madeline works and gives him Sciarra's ring before approaching Madeline, who is then kidnapped by Hinx and his men. Bond rescues her and they return to Q's hotel, where Q learns from a data storaging device embedded in Sciarra's ring that he was a member of SPECTRE, which has bankrolled Quantum and is behind Le Chiffre, Dominic Greene and Raoul Silva. Reports come in of a bombing in South Africa that has led the government to reconsider their stance on Nine Eyes. The program is approved, with C as its commander, and M and his employees, including Moneypenny and Q, are fired.

Bond and Madeline arrive at the L'American and flirt. Bond finds a secret room belonging to Mr. White, who had been assigned by Oberhauser to a series of operations that affected Bond directly, tipping Bond to Oberhauser's true identity. Bond finds a map to Oberhauser's hideout in Sahara. Bond and Madeline board a train to Tangier, where Bond is attacked by Hinx, who ends up being killed. Bond and Madeline have sex and fall in love.

In Tangier, Bond and Madeline are welcomed by Oberhauser's butler, who drives them to his state in Sahara. Bond recognizes Oberhauser as his foster brother, who murdered his father out of jealousy for believing he favored Bond. Oberhauser controls a network of spy-satellites that allows him to monitor the entire planet through surveillance cameras, including MI6, and mastermind terrorist attacks for profit.

Bond and Madeline escape and reach Oberhauser's control center. Bond contacts Q, who teaches him how to sabotage it, leading to an explosion that destroys Oberhauser's estate. Bond and Madeline return to London with evidence that C was in league with Oberhauser and M agrees to help them despite MI6 having already been decommissioned. Bond the infiltrates C's office and attempts to arrest him, but C draws a gun, forcing Bond to kill him.

Suddenly, Oberhauser, who survived albeit heavily disfigured, causes a citywide blackout to lure Bond into a final confrontation at the old MI6 office in Whitehall, which is rigged to explode in a matter of minutes. Bond infiltrates the building and kills Oberhauser's men before confronting Oberhauser underground. He reveals that Madeline is being held captive atop the building, and Bond leaves to rescue her while Oberhauser departs in a helicopter. Bond and Madeline manage to escape before the building collapses and chase after Oberhauser's helicopter, which Bond manages to shoot down with a flare. Bond confronts Oberhauser as he crawls out of the wreckage of the helicopter, but chooses to spare him, in the process addressing him by his childhood name: Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

In the aftermath, Blofeld is arrested alongside the other members of SPECTRE, Nine Eyes is decomissioned, M is reinstated as head of the MI6 and Bond and Madeline leave together to enjoy a vacation.

where did you get this information on the revised draft from! and how do we know it is true?

It sounds pretty good. The only bit I don't like is
Blofeld being Bond's long lost foster brother
which sounds like something corny.

Reminds me of that Spaceballs scene :woot:

The new outline is awesome. Shouldnt have been worried. Felt like Old School cinematic Bond. Might become the best Craig Bond film yet.

I like the focused and engaging pace it seems to have. It feels like the film knows what it is. Big stakes, big action, intrigue, romance...it's all there.

I still think the long-lost evil brother part is corny, but the rest sounds okay. So does Monica Bellucci just have a small role then?

In the context of the plot's size it would seem so. But I do like the sound of her section.

The finale in the
old underground Skyfall bunker is an interesting choice for a Bond movie. But I'm up for it. The outline says it was destined for demolishment anyway, so the fact Blofeld destroys the place is a moot point. But it should look spectacular. I suspect this will take place at night, but it remains to be seen if they'll add the rain. And I'm so glad they're not going to make Tanner a mole and commits suicide. The new treatment is much better, putting that part onto 'C'.

Given how rampant spoilers are already (I'm majorly disappointed I read the first leak) I'm going to have to bow out of discussions... See you after it's out folks :)

So apparently Craig's Bond only falls in love with French women. :hehe:

So Irma Bunt's a lesbian now. Kinky.

She has been dropped from script apparently

Pros-feels like classic bond even more than Skyfall

Cons-It opens up critism it is kind of rehash of skyfall
Blofeld's motivation
they kind of seem forced trying to connect all the Craig Bond films together

I would like to see Bond film again where we see MI6 regurals

Bond flirts with Moneypenny
M gives him assignment
Q gives him equipment
at some point bond during investigation has to report to Mi6
MI6 is seen towards end after bond has defeated villain

I'm fed up of seeing these supposed plot details and leaks from Sony. I want to see something about filming and set pictures.

The first two acts did indeed seem pretty solid. "I'm Mickey Mouse, *******."
