According to someone I know who has read the entire newest/revised leaked screenplay concerning the beginning of the movie [BLACKOUT]the gunbarrel sequence is FINALLY back at the beginning of the film and the pre-title sequence ends with Bond assassinating a member of SPECTRE, the camera zooming into the Octopus logo on the man's SPECTRE ring which begins the main title sequence which will feature vignettes of scenes from Royale, Solace and Skyfall in a throw back to the OHMSS titles sequence.[/BLACKOUT]

OHMSS is one of my favorite Bond books and films. A Craig adaptation sounds like a dream come true.

Well, two things.

Perhaps this isn't the final draft. Or, most likely, this is part 1 of 2. With Bolfeld surviving we could see the tradgey in the next film, which could be more like the original YOLT story.

Actually, that would be the next film. But for Spectre, a lot of the imagery and ideas scream OHMSS adaptation, but not necessarily a strict one.

If the idea is that Spectre and Bond 25 end up being two parts of a whole, then they could be adapting the ideas of OHMSS and YOLT together. OHMSS has a lot to it other then tragedy.

SPECTRE is its own film, just like OHMSS is its own book. But it is still the middle part of a a trilogy of sorts. Heck all indications is that SPECTRE is a culmination of sorts.

Yeah, this seems to be very much in the spirit of OHMSS, just like I hope Bond 25 is the spiritual adaptation of YOLT. The Connery film absolutely gutted that book and destroyed some massive character development while they were at it.
