As much as i like ELba as an actor , i just wouldn't want him or for that matter any other non-white actor playing the role of Bond.
And this is coming from someone who Indian descent. Hell if they want a non-white actor for Bond , why should it be a black actor. Why don't we choose an Indian actor or a korean actor or a japanese actor.
Or even a woman.....

No joke, I've read arguments from "Strange looks asian in the comics" to "Strange looks Mexican or Italian." All very odd arguments.

As far as Idris Elba as Bond is concerned, I think if it's the route they decided to go, it'd work without any troubles. I only mention the Dr. Strange connection because people are outraged over a white guy playing a white character.

The biggest problem I have with Elba is his age. He's only four years younger than Craig, and will be pushing 50 by the time he would take over the role. That's just too old for a role that requires multiple films. If he does 3 or 4 films like most Bond actors, he could be pushing 60 when he's done. We've had Bond actors in their 50s before and it simply doesn't work. It would be Roger Moore in AVTAK all over again.

Plus honestly, Elba looks old for his age. That makes it even worse. I was stunned when I found out he was 42. I thought he was 50 now.

I find Hollywood's cowardly excuses for whitewashing movies BS.

Hollywood always comes up with these excuses about not casting minority casts because there are enough big names to justify the budget but that doesn't stop them spending millions of dollars on no name all white cast movies. If your not giving minorities the opportunity to star in these big movies then how will they ever become the big name stars that Hollywood say they lack.
