Sounds like a Connery era Bond theme which is a good thing IMO.

It has a Thunderball vibe, which I like. Fingers crossed the melody is included by Thomas Newman in the score.

Q: You're shooting the gunbarrel sequence tomorrow aren't you?

I tried to put it in at the beginning of the movie but then I realised -and probably should have known this before- that our first shot was Bond walking towards the camera with a gun raised.
So you followed the gunbarrel with a shot of Bond with his gun raised. I couldn't use it. It looked like we'd just seen it. So [with "SkyFall"] I put it at the end, even though I remember, as a kid, it was one of the best bits. It was like Christmas Eve -this is actually about to happen! This is it, the Bond movie's about to start. It's a great feeling. I really wanted to put it in "SkyFall".
I definitely will try to put it in front of the film ["SPECTRE] this time."
Craig: "For Christ's sake, Sam, don't commit."

Funny how Craig uses the word "street." I don't think Mendes and Craig were poking fun at the Horowitz comment exactly, but it reads as casual. As if how their usage of it fits in with how Horowitz used the word.

That sample Sam Smith posted really is promising.

That bit in the photos of the mag where Craig says the film has gone where he wanted it to go sounds promising too. I'm glad that these are films that Craig ultimately loves making and is willing to put himself through these grueling shoots it seems to achieve the quality he wants.
