James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 8

Bond is also vulnerable and bottled up with a lot going on inside. Whether that is executed well here is subjective, but I don't think you always need bravado for a Bond song. The idea and nature itself behind this song is just fine in terms of being more intimate.

I agree to a degree, but I think the song doesn't hit it home. I'm going back and forth on it, and I think it's just the arrangements, and maybe Smith's approach to the song.

It's not an awful song by all means but it feels like a train struggling to go up a hill..but just gives up half way through.

I'm gonna have to quote Michael B. Jordan when it comes to people's reactions to the new theme, "They'll still see it anyway." :oldrazz:

With Fant4stic making roughly a third of the gross of the 2005 film, it actually seems like he was quite wrong on that one.

They have left the ending of this movie very open. It’s ambiguous. Does that mean that this is Daniel’s last Bond movie?

Léa - I could not say for certain. Anything is possible, right?

Then that's an execution issue, not so much the idea itself. I think there's a great more suave and more introspective Bond song out there. I think this is a good start. But yes, of course it should be great. But I like what it means. I get where people are coming from on this, and I acknowledge it could be better, but plain awful? I just don't see it. There's worse things out there than this. I just respect how they didn't do an Adele type thing again (Yes, that includes getting people like Lana Del Rey and Lorde) which could have been the easiest thing in the world to do with a success like that.

Which sucks really bad because the context of him saying that was in response to all the racist hate he got. Even though that's not why the movie failed at all, it's like he got told no one saw it because he's black and Johnny shouldn't be.

Um - they aren't making separate domestic/international trailers for this.

Look at all the Hunger Games final trailers for example - all 1 minute long. Hardly surprising...so probably all out action - as Hunter Rider suggests.

That's actually not unheard of. It's a practice that's been going on for decades. It's a movie by movie case tho. Depends on the market being targeted, and the marketing team involved and the marketing budget.

"It’s getting easier because I’m doing less stunt work. So I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able. And, I’m contracted for one more. Ok? These movies don’t get made very often. It’s just the fourth time for me, a spit in the ocean. If you don’t get excited about making a movie of this size with this cast, with Sam Mendes…then go home!"

Craig's here to stay for a while longer.

I didn't know Madeline Swann was Mr. White's daughter. That's a cool little development. I love how Hinx is described as 'the new Oddjob'. If you're going to aspire to henchman greatness, he's the one to look to.

I'm pretty sure actresses have been presenting themselves as "Not your typical Bond girl" in interviews pretty much since the latter Connery films. It's become its own eye-roll-worthy cliche.

maybe I missed it but I think this wasnt posted.

I remember the actress Berenice Marlohe who played Sévérine in Skyfall kept saying similar and I think she said something like her character was going to change how Bond girls are portrayed forever (I think it was either that or she was going to change how people perceive Bond girls forever) . After reading her say stuff like that I was very surprised with how small her role in the film was and how little a part she played in the film (at least in comparison to the big role she was describing and claiming that she had).
