James Bond: Blood Stone

considering cr was probably the most "bond" film of all time, i doubt it

glad you guys are saying its good tho the reviews worried me

Dude i LOVED Casino Royale. LOVED it, and i stand by what i said. Its just that car man. That chase sequence is really cool.

Yea im fairly certain the IGN reviewer had a vendetta out towards either Bizarre or Activision or the guy just hates Daniel Craigs Bond, but a 5 is ridiculous. From the amount iv played, i feel the game is closer to an 8 or 8.5 but a 7 at the absolute lowest. I think anyone who is on the fence looking for a good Bond experience in the absence of a movie needs to grab this game without worry. Maybe my opinion will change once i finish the game, but right now, i stand by this title. I think its really good.

I think 7-7.5 is a good score for somebody who doesn't care that much about Bond. For me, as a fan of the series, I'd definitely go with something in the 8 range going by what I've experienced thus far.

Yea id agree with that.

That 5 is the only low score I've found for this game. Everything has been riding the line between 7.5 and 8. Those are pretty decent scores IMO

Yea. The more i play, the more i cant understand how that reviewer gave it that low of a score. Im just going to assume he hates Daniel Craigs take on Bond. I mean this game has everything a Bond fan could want. Its not perfect by any means, but its a solid, fun action title.

The only thing iv seen that i really didnt like was the cutscene at the end of the Monaco level. The level has you wearing a tuxedo and the very last cutscene shows bond in just a regular suit, then switches back to a tux in the following scene. The lack of detail kind of bugged me.

I can't imagine any reviewer would expect a perfect Bond game, because perfect games don't happen. But from what I can tell Blood Stone is a good shooter, a good Bond shooter and the Bond fan in me wants it.

Id agree with that man. It has all the elements one needs for a good Bond adventure. The shooting is good, the hand to hand is brutal and the driving is well done. At this point, i also feel Daniel Craig and Judi Dench have given good performances. This just feels like an authentic Bond experience. Im really enjoying it.

I loved Goldeneye, Agent Under Fire, Nightfire and Everything or Nothing (this game was amazing). I loved playing as Oddjob in Nightfire. I did not really like the Quantum of Solace game or From Russia with Love. I really hope one day they make a fantastic Bond game multiplayer like it used to be. I will pick up this because I am a huge Bond fan and I have played every Bond game since Goldeneye.

No one should compare this to a game like Splinter Cell or anything like that simply because they're too different in terms of subject matter. Bond is Bond and it seems like the developer has respected that

I wish they would go back to FPS. I really don't like third person. It worked in Everything or Nothing but I have no idea why they stuck with it.

Because sweet physics are awesome, and seeing Bond seems pretty important. As much fun as the FPS's were, 3rd person makes more sense imo. So you guys think this game's worth the purchase? I'll probably buy a used copy in a year or so, haha.

True, but this game take a LOT of cues from Conviction. Between the enemy notification ring, the smart phone and the focus aim, all of which were seen in Conviction. The take downs look better here tho.

I think Bond is far better in the 3rd person. First person doesnt do him justice. Between the take downs, running and jumping from one platform to another, all of that works better in the 3rd person.

I think its deff worth adding to your collection if you are a Bond fan. I dont care what any review says, this is the Bond game we have been waiting for. It does everything that Bond does well. The shooting is good, the driving sections are epic and the hand to hand take downs are so sick to see in action.

If you enjoyed Everything or Nothing, there's no reason one shouldnt enjoy this title.

You can always do it to where it switches between FPS to third person like many games do already. If you are going to be jumping/platforming, go to third person. If you go up to do an awesome take down, show it in third person.

Plus third person multiplayer really sucks.

I dunno about IGN, but I'm enjoying the hell out of this game, Bond fan or not, the game is solid. Definately should have at least scored a 7.5 or 8.

If you are going to switch constantly, why do it in first person to begin with? There's no point. FPS games are better suited when you are playing a faceless drone, ie Master Chief, not when you are controlling the worlds most recognizable spy.

As for 3rd person multiplayer sucking, Uncharted: Among Thieves would like a word with you.

It kinda makes you wonder what people at IGN expect, 3rd person Bond game could really only consist of driving and shooting. You get reprised roles from key characters, backgrounds and vehicles fit in with the Bond mythos, and they bash it because they felt there wasn't enough gadgets and gameplay felt uninspired. Uhhh......Daniel Craig's Bond doesn't really rely on gadgets that much, he pretty much gets down and dirty, what more could you ask for with this game? The Goldeneye review was a no-brainer

Yea, after re-reading that review, im convinced the reviewer just hasnt seen Daniel Craig's Bond films and didnt really know what was going on. Like you said, harping for a lack of gadgets was just stupid. I can count how many gadgets Bond has used in the last two films with one finger. He also complained about the lack of the Bond theme throughout the game. Again something that isnt all that present in the current films. The game has been a blast. I generally hate when there are driving sections in a game like this because they tend to suck, but they are just awesome here.

The Daniel Craig Bond films are a reboot, so they should treat the games the same way. Don't look for the same re-occurring Bond elements from previous Bond games everytime a new one comes out. If its missing the theme, so what, I don't need a conformation theme everytime I did something spectacular. How many times have you played GoW or GTA and heard a theme everytime you killed somebody or blew up something???

im a fan of the books so the new ones are my fav as the chracterisation and lack of gadgets are much truer to the books

whats the story like guys??

gonna have to pick this up preowned at soe point i reckon - still dunno when im gna get a chance to play this fallout and new cod :(

The story's okay, nothing particularly stands out but its more than adequate and there are a few really funny lines.

"Is there somewhere he can be fed and watered?" :awesome:

Yea the story isnt really a stand out. Its kind of your typical action story. Some Bio-Weapons have been stolen, its up to Bond to stop them from going off and along the way theres a few twists and turns. The action in the game is super fun tho. It so bad ass to sprint towards a dude, jab em in the throat, then slam him into a wall then immediately go in to focus aim and nail 2 guys in the dome. Its all flawless.

You don't switch constantly because you don't run for 30 seconds and then come to a ledge. Halo's takedown system is pretty damn cool.

Are you forgetting that Goldeneye, Nightfire, Agent Under Fire were all FPS? Those imo were the funnest and best games. Goldeneye had an amazing multiplayer.
