007 Legends

I'm disappointed to see the negative reception. I was hoping this would be my new Bond game.

Actually, I'm afraid if you believe that this game is going to be worth a damn or that the people of IGN are so ignorant that they couldn't possibly score a game correctly then you, my friend, are the idiot.

It wouldn't be the first time I've encountered plain ignorance from IGN.

I'm well aware that there are many negative reviews for this game, some positive.

But IGN have given this game 4.5. They gave Silent Hill Downpour a 4.5 as well. That was ridiculous. Some idiot reviewer who was pissed that Downpour wasn't like SH2, and gave it that low score, based PURELY out of ignorance.

I don't trust in their reviews for that alone. Hacks.

Same here. I don't expect everyone to love a new game. There's always some detractors, but the negativity towards this game has been overwhelming.

Can so many people be wrong?

Yes and no. It's a fun game - which it set out to be...but it's not as good as GE.

7/10.

Hearing this is a flop. Not a huge Bond fan. Hope I'm impressed, should arrive in the mail soon.

Never liked IGN and GameInformer reviews. At IGN, anything that isn't Call of Duty sucks. They even compare this to CoD so much.

- LOVE the game's version of the Goldfinger theme

- Its surreal to see Craig's Bond meet Tracy.

- Its great to see Blofeld back, but puzzled that its Donald Pleasance this time even though it was Charles Grey in Goldeneye.

- Not surprised to see Halle Berry's likeness not be used (probably asked for too much money), but not using Jeffrey Wright for Felix Leiter is severely disappointing.

- Gustav Graves still has the God damn electric suit!

- If they make a sequel, I hope to see Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, and The World Is Not Enough as missions.

I think Jeff from Giantbomb was spot on that Goldeneye is doing more damage than good at this point.

Agree 100%. Goldeneye was fantastic back in the day, and hugely innovative as well. Obviously, it was also great fun with friends. However, it's incredibly unfortunate that game devs continually chase the Goldeneye formula when they're making James Bond games, because that never results in anything resembling a true Bond experience. Everything or Nothing was a decent diversion from that, but they really ought to be looking at games like Deus Ex or Mass Effect. Basically, they need to make Alpha Protocol except, you know, good.

Been playing for about 3 hrs. VEry repetitive but fun. played one online match, lagged to hell. Activision won't like my review...

I think a Bond game like Dishonored with a Speechcraft path would be amazing.

Every game should be like Everything or Nothing and Blood Stone since they're the best

After reading the review for Silent Hill Downpour, I can see that Silent Hill 2 is mentioned exactly one time. I believe the ignorance is on your part, friendo.

I agree. Blood Stone wasn't great overall, but there were some good idea. I think with more use of gadgets, some true stealth and just more fluidity overall with character movement and control, and it could've been a great game.

I'm thinking a cross between Uncharted (minus the platforming and puzzle solving) and Splinter Cell would be a great way to do an action/stealth Bond game.

I have not played EON but I own Blood Stone and it is a FUN game, never was a HUGE fan of FPS games even tho I own resistance 1 and 2, and Black Ops for PS3 and Quantum of Solace for 360.

That's my issue. I'm not a huge FPS fan, although I have been surprised by how much I enjoyed certain games like Borderlands. But seeing a Bond game that is a FPS immediately turns me off.

And to honest, the original Goldeneye as well as Reloaded were cool, but the biggest props that those games get is because of the multiplayer. And being someone who rarely dabbles in multiplayer for games, I don't really care for it, and I much prefer a good single player campaign.

EoN is a lot like Blood Stone but a whole lot better.
Blood Stone felt like a lazy version of EoN. It almost looked rush like a movie tie-in, except it wasn't a tie-in. I think that's part of what made EoN so great, in that it wasn't based on a Bond film, but it looked like one.

Movie / Game Differences

Goldfinger starts in the Miami hotel where Bond finds Jill's golden corpse.

In Her Majesty's Secret Service starts with Bond already dating Tracy. She is still considering his marriage offer before all Hell breaks loose. During the Piz Gloria attack, Bond knocks Blofeld off a cable car. Some time later after their wedding, Blofeld does a drive-by shooting on Bond's Aston Martin taking Tracy's life.

License To Kill starts with Bond finding Della dead already. Felix Leiter is some white guy now and he's wounded, but his leg is intact. Benecio Del Toro's likeness is kept for Dario.

Die Another Day starts with Bond already in Gustav's Ice Palace where he first meets a Caucasian Jinx. He doesn't have the vibration ring. Zao is killed when Bond knocks his car into Icarus's beam during their car battle on the frozen lake.

Moonraker starts off with Bond heading to the space shuttle before take-off. Dr. Goodhead has been changed into a less attractive Pam Bouvier. UGH! Bond fights Jaws at the space port and its more exciting than what we saw in Brazil. Bond doesn't shoot Drax with a poison dart.

Due to time constraints on storytelling: Tilly Masterson, Joe Butcher, Lupe Lamora, Miranda Frost, and Dolly are ignored.

Still didn't deserve a 4.5

Don't know where, how, or why he came up with that, because it was unwarranted.

That's what we call a personal opinion. Which also explains why the reviewer gave the game a 4.5. Common sense man, common sense.

Got EON for xbox for 5 bucks mint condition so looking forward to playing that later :).

Opinions? Nah man, there's no room for that sort of thing here. Didn't you know? Reviews are only valid when they conform to your own opinions. Otherwise they're obviously biased or paid off.

I've seen IGN give a lot of decent games just a 4.5 that other reviewers have rated higher and been consistent with. IGN stand out that they're lazy hacks at rating games, and that's my opinion, so there.
