007 Legends

This game is really bordering a 5ish/10 for me. I wnated this game to learn Bond mythology, not go from Point A-B fighting random boss battles in flashbacks. When the DLC comes out, this is essentially SKYFALL THE GAME

The game looks disappointing. I now think I would've preferred it fully devoted to Skyfall. Bond games need an overhaul in the EoN direction. These Activision games are feeling all the same.

Entirely this. It's just SKYFALL with flashbacks to previous adventures that feel entirely unnecessary, especially when the DLC is released.

So much of the fundamental elements of this game puzzle me. Particularly the Craig in retro Bond movies. I mean seeing Goldfinger interact with a somber and grim Bond and the former being his campy self doesn't really work.

I still say it's a good game, but god damnit it's a rage-inducing one.

I've seriously died way too many times. :cmad:

Just finished. Moonraker was pretty cool but hate that there was really no boss fight except for with Jaws, I think.

I've seen IGN give a lot of decent games just a 4.5 that other reviewers have rated higher and been consistent with. IGN stand out that they're lazy hacks at rating games, and that's my opinion, so there.

You should read more sites...

granted i haven't played it but i'd take any ign review as a grain of salt
their reviews aren't very professional and are borderline ridiculous sometimes

This game is horrible...just...horribe. The people who designed and thought it was good should be moved into the fast food industry.

I don't understand where all the IGN hate comes from. Granted I haven't played this myself, but I hear so many complaints about them scoring games too low or too high, and I just don't know where it comes from.

I wouldn't say horrible, that's way too harsh its Just very blah

Hopefully, the next Bond game won't go chasing Goldeneye.

Another shot at the third person, more varied 007 experience is what's needed. I think Jeff, from Giantbomb, who isn't even a 007 fan pointed out that shooting people in the face isn't even half of the repertoire or the appeal of James Bond.

With all that said, I'll pick up Legends at some point. Once the price drops, I will.

i'd like a more espionage-type game sort of like Metal Gear Solid. but that probably won't happen. also include riding around in vehicles.

Goldeneye is in my top 3 games ever, but I'm tired of Bond games trying to re-do goldeneye. Let's give it something new, shake things up a bit.

Bloodstone was the perfect Bond game IMO, we need more of that type of gameplay.

Unfortunately, I never played Bloodstone. I did enjoy Quantum quite a bit, and GE reloaded was fairly fun.

Blood Stone is quite good I have it and Quantum for PS3, Quantum plays a lot like a Call of Duty game (it should as it uses COD's game engine) I have to say I have more fun playing Blood tho.

I'll wind up getting it soon, hopefully to wash out the mediocre taste of Legends.

That skyfall mission better be damn cool, Activision.

Blood Stone was okay, but in terms of Bond games, it was a step in the right direction. As is usually the case with licensed characters and franchises, games that are based on original stories, as opposed to a movie tie-in, tend to much better. So instead of trying to a make a game based on the next movie, or trying to recapture what made Goldeneye so great, I think they need to focus on the character again and create a story that allows them to implement some cool gameplay.

And hopefully they move away from FPS because I feel like Bond is more of a stealth-action type of character, not a shooter, and it's much easier to do that with gameplay based on third-person mechanics.

that is why I like Blood Stone and Everything or Nothing more than Quantum of Solice.

Skyfall's DLC is released.

According to the fanpage, it only features the beginning of the movie, and Silva is pretty much non-existant.

Does anyone know how long a development time was given on Everything Or Nothing? I mean, looking at that game...and Blood Stone, it's as if EON was given a proper amount of time to be built. There's a ton of content in there, and damn good replay value. A game like EON being released now, with that amount of content and polish would kinda be considered the Arkham Asylum of 007 games, probably.

Okay, so I just finished the game. Still a borderline 6/10 for me. It's not the god awful abomination that it's made out to be, but I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. The Skyfall missions are pretty hard, but ridiculously slow. Silva is, like I said above, non-existant. You play the first 15 minutes/shanghai fight with Patrice. That's it. I probably will be keeping this in my collection, but I don't see this playing as good as QoS, GE: Reloaded (Or Bloodstone, when it comes.)

It's not god awful. It's just forgettable, and just...exists.

6/10

EoN is a lot like Blood Stone but a whole lot better.

Yep. EON was a great game and should have been the future for Bond games. Well it was, because EA did it again a year later with an OK-game version of From Russia With Love, but it lacked the polish of EON. I never played Blood Stone.

Having rented 007 Legends over the previous weekend, I am disappointed. Eurocom did a solid job with the GoldenEye remake for Wii. I never played it ported to PS3, but on Wii the graphics and production values were impressive for the system and it had the best shooter controls I have ever played (once you get used to using the Wii-mote). Plus online and splitscreen were both very fun and nostalgic blasts.

But 007 Legends? It appears to be a rush job. It does not have the finish or clever design of the GoldenEye remake and looks visually MUCH LESS impressive on PS3 when one has higher standards for production values. There are some nice nostalgic blasts from all the movies, yes even Moonraker and Die Another Day, but that doesn't make for a good game.

Looks like the real EON should start shopping the Bond license around again. And this time, stick with the formula created by their namesake in the last generation of games.
