My choice for Blofeld - Ciaran Hinds:
CiaranHinds.jpg

He is rather similar in appearance to the literary version of Blofeld as described in Thunderball (before changing his appearance a couple of times to evade capture). Blofeld was described as tall and powerfully built (in TB he was also very fat). He had black crew cut hair, black eyes and a thin mouth.

Hinds is also a great actor and tremendous at playing powerful, scheming men. (ie. his turn as Julius Caesar in Rome)

Also, a re-invention of Blofeld more along the lines of the literary version of the character is also probably wise because the bald and scarred Mao suit wearing film version is probably now indistinguishable from the parodies of it. The literary version of the character is more in line with the tone of the Craig films.

How many eastereggs or winks to the previous Bond franchise did you guys caught? I'm not counting[BLACKOUT] Moneypenny, male M or Q, because thats part of the new status quo[/BLACKOUT] and more than just an easter egg.

Thinking back I can really only remember EDIT: I found one other so four three real eastereggs:
- Bond saying "for her eyes only" when he gives somehting to Tanner in the MI6 bunker.
- Q joking about not being into "exploding pens" anymore.
- And of course the car and it's toys.
- He jumps on the back of the komodo dragon like Moore did the alligators.

Were there any more stuff?

From what I am hearing It seems like they want to blur the line between being Craig's final Origin film and being Bond 23.007 Legends seems part of plan of producers. They want audneces to believe Bond has gone through all those films before Skyfall.Although obviously like 007 Legends they were slightly different than films people remembered. Thus by time Bond 24 happens It will be like It was In past just the next chapter of Bond although now
Mallory Is M.Q Is younger. And there Is black Moneypenny Bond flirts with but you know the history of the sexual tension

Bond 24/Bond 25 may return Bond to the world saving Bond.Who Knows maybe John Logan can convince Eon to reintroduce Blofeld In series.

A possiblty for Bond 24/25 Is Bond stops villain In 24 but he escapes. In 25 he pursures Villain who Is planning revenge for Bond stopping his plan.Basiclly what You Only Live Twive/On Her Majestry's secret Service In some way could have been.

You know, the more I read your post the more that theory makes sense to me. The Skyfall Bond is the CR/QoS Bond but he's more evolved, shaped by all the missions that he's been in the meantime ie. all the other movies.

This film was my favourite Bond film so far, although Casino Royale is something special and will always be just below this.

There's something about the relationship between Bond and Judi Dench's M that I love. Speaking of which, Dench and Daniel Craig both give awesome performances, as do Javier Bardem (who was hilarious and scary at the same time), Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw (whom I loved).

The only person I wasn't particularly crazy about was Ralph Fiennes as, from now on, his voice is pure Voldemort!

Yep, what got me to believe this is when they showed
the classic Aston Martin, with all the gadgets

It's hard to believe Fiennes was rumored to play Bond and now look where he's at.

Moving on up! (Movin On Up) to the east side....

Saw it again today. Just gets better in the second viewing
the scenes new M and old M just great. Dench was great in this 007 film best since GE. She was just badass and Whishaw as Q what a good actor I hope he's back.
I like how they set up two characters.

Okay, wow. Just, wow. I was just hoping for a movie that was better than the PoS that is QoS but this movie is one of the best Bond movies I have ever seen. I'm talking top 5, possibly top 3. Brilliant!

I seriously wonder what Rotten Tomato uses as its criteria for counting reviews.
because the only bad reviews Skyfall has received so far are from completely no name bloggers. Its like they had to go out of their way to find a bad review.

Johnny Depp's voice seems to be channeling Capt. Sparrow in movies he has done after Pirates as well.

Skyfall may be hitting the theatres in the U.S. at a bad time, since Hurricane Sandy is tearing up the Northeast right now. No matter what, its box office will be affected by it negatively, and it is too bad.

Very rare that you will find a movie that 'everyone' loves.

For me Daniel Craig is like Timothy Dalton in they have have been in great Bond movies (LD, LtK, CR, SF but not QoS which I absolutely hated) but (imho) aren't great Bonds themselves.
They are really 'thuggish', 'brutish'. I'm of the opinion that Bond should be tough but suave, see; Connery/Brosnan.

I had such high hopes for this movie that after all I was hugely disappointed. Nowhere near Casino Royale and even QoS was more entertaining for me. Surely the movie is good but I think a James Bond movie shouldn't take itself too seriously. Still I have to give credit to Javier Bardem's exceptional performance.

You like QoS more than SF? Whoa...

I haven't seen the film yet, but its been said that Skyfall has more jokes and light heartenness, harkening back to Classic Bond. That, and QoS was dead, dead, dead serious, so I'm confused by your comments about Skyfall.

For the next Bond film, I wouldn't mind if Daniel's hair was a bit longer and combed, like how his hair is now during his press junket tour and London premiere. From what I've seen so far, I also like his short hair in Skyfall but I wouldn't mind the longer hair. It compliments his head shape a bit more.

It does make him younger, doesn't it?

Yeah Daniel's hair really determines how well he looks. If it's too long (The Invasion) he looks awkward. If his hair is too short, he looks brutish but a bit older; his tradmark craggy features stand out more.

But with this hair pictured, it's at the right length.

Indeed, that or his QoS hair length are ideal.

really? QoS has lots of funny moments, the film cracks me up - its more of a dry wit than traditional humour though but I thought Craigs Bond was really funny in it

Indeed, QoS was filled with humor, it was just as dry as post-Greene Bolivia.

I don't know what film you went to see but this film is full of humour. It's serious but still a funny film. Also this is 10 times better then QoS.

So, is this movie more of a "calm" thriller or does it have plenty of action throughout?

I think he looked much better in CR but then I love everything about CR.
