My choice for Blofeld - Ciaran Hinds:
He is rather similar in appearance to the literary version of Blofeld as described in Thunderball (before changing his appearance a couple of times to evade capture). Blofeld was described as tall and powerfully built (in TB he was also very fat). He had black crew cut hair, black eyes and a thin mouth.
Hinds is also a great actor and tremendous at playing powerful, scheming men. (ie. his turn as Julius Caesar in Rome)
Also, a re-invention of Blofeld more along the lines of the literary version of the character is also probably wise because the bald and scarred Mao suit wearing film version is probably now indistinguishable from the parodies of it. The literary version of the character is more in line with the tone of the Craig films.
