Apocalypse James McAvoy is Professor Charles Xavier!

So Xavier will be kidnapped by Apocalypse and Mystique with the X-men will go to rescue him.

Ever since that ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY article came out last summer talking about that scene in Cerebro and hinted that Apocalypse wants Charles, I have been dying to know WHY.

If Apocalypse is so powerful, why would he need Charles?

Not entirely sure, but what I've heard so far is that Apocalypse uses host bodies, and accumulates mutant powers that way. So he has the power for several mutants because he's switched bodies before.

My guess is, Charles might be the next host because Apocalypse wants his telepathy. Maybe that's a power he doesn't have yet (or at least to the same level).

I know that everyone has already seen this poster by now, but I just wanted to mention that I'm relieved that McAvoy isn't a tiny figure on it.

So, if he does want to transfer into Xavier, he is able to 'cure' the host's physical impairments? Xavier's body is disabled...

Apocalypse has healing powers similar to Wolverine. He can also alter all the molecules in his body (at least in the comics), hence the reason he can grow into gigantic sizes. Although I'm thinking he won't do that in reality--I think that might be an astral plane battle between him and Charles, which shows that these two will be fighting each other over something (my guess, control over Charles' body and telepathy).

I think Cerebro is going to be destroyed by Havoc, probably to sever the connection between Charles and Apocalypse (where Charles' eyes go black).

I don't think Apocalypse will need Cerebro; he can enhance mutant abilities. I think just having Charles, who is already the most powerful telepath, will be enough. But those are just my thoughts on it.

Ah yes, indeed. The healing power, also suggested by a report of the Egyptian transference scene, would mean Apocalypse could easily use Xavier's physical body.

That's what I'm thinking. Of course, it's all speculation, but it's been said in a couple of interviews that [BLACKOUT]Apocalypse needs a host body to survive.[/BLACKOUT]

Oh, interesting theory! I wonder if Charles would be strong enough to keep him out...

Whay we don't see Xavier in final battle, hope Apocapyse doesn't merged with him, and Jean doesn't split them.

Well, that's probably exactly what will happen. Why else would Apocalypse want Xavier? And Jean has to have her 'Phoenix power surge' moment.

I guess that is why he lost his hair: upgrading his power to fight Apocalypse:gngl:

I'm thinking he might turn into Apocalypse for a second--and something in that process causing the hair loss--before he's able to gain control of himself, either with his own telepathy or with the help of someone else (like Jean or maybe Magneto does something).

After all, I don't see Magneto fighting the young X-men in Cairo. I think he might be protecting Apocalypse while this transference process is taking place and then stops it before it can finish. Just a theory, though.

They should have given him a suit and tie for the Empire cover.

Characters will have 2 costumes
x-men : black suit and x-uniform at final
xavier : blue smoking and empire cover'suit

but horsemen : each one costume. if storm, angel, Psylocke dont join x-men at the end

Doesn't matter, he looks better with a suit and tie.

I'm not big on the Empire Cover for Charles, mainly because I don't think he'll be bald in 90% of the movie (so the cover is kind of misleading) and, if they were going the bald way, then I think his traditional suit would have been more appropriate.

That being said, I think James looks good on the cover and the outfit does match what he wears in the film. I'm kind of digging the 80s garb--it's not over the top, but I do like his traditional blue suit/tie.

I don't know about 90% of the time he would have hair part since he shaved his hair pretty much the first day when he started shooting. My guess is probably 50%-50%, or at least 60% (with hair)-40%. But damn he looks good in 80s hair style. But he is also pretty sharp bald. :sly:

I think he would have hair at the beginning with teaching and searching for Apocalypse. After his capture, he might have hair for a while then lose it in order to fight Apocalypse, which might not be the final fighting scene - maybe in the second act. In the third act he would be all the way bald, training together with Raven and in the end battle fighting Apocalypse with all X-men.

It is interesting that James joked about his scene with Apocalypse but nobody seems to notice or care. He told Horowitz when he was promoting Victor Frankenstein on SDCC that he beat/kick? Apocalypse hard, so I guess Prof. X might (should) be one of the key elements to bring down Apocalypse.

So gorgeous, and the semi-transparent vertical strips on his white shirt is utterly distracting. :fhm: I'm sure some of Professor X's students can't concentrate during his lectures. :cwink:

Lol yes he does have beautiful eyes. Heterosexually of course [cough cough].

I'm sure Professor X's students can concentrate during his lectures, because aren't interested in 50 years old man.

Does that guy even look 30 to you kasjan.

So he doesn't look anywhere close to 50 nor would that stop an attraction to a person. In some instances it might increase an attraction ever heard of a May December romance?
