JANE: The writer is halfway through a draft right now. We should be rolling camera with any luck by February. Jigsaw is going to be in it.

Is Jonathan Hensleigh coming back to direct?

JANE: No. We're still looking for a new director. If you know anybody, let me know.

If I remember correctly, when the original Punisher came out. Thomas Jane mentioned that Keaton would make a great Jigsaw. I agree with that, hopefully they were able to get him for the film.

Now that would be kick ass!!!

Walter Hill isnt a bad choice at all, Though many may not like it; I enjoyed his film Last Man Standing. It has some great action scenes in it.

McTiernan would be insane. I'd love him to do it or Tony Scott. However this is Lionsgate we're dealing with. They have 1st look deals with several directors. So films like Hostel and Crank could give us the new director for P2.

I can't remember his name but how bout the guy who directed the movie Running Scared. That movie was good and it had the gritty, rough look that the Punisher should have.

I loved that flick. Paul Walker isn't any great actor or anything far from it but that movie was a pure adrenanline rush and was a blast. Now imagine having some quality actors with that director. I suggested that awhile back.

I really don't know who can replace as a director, but i'm glad Jane himself gave an update. First draft almost done? Awesome. Jigsaw for the villain. Bring it on.

Hensleigh might have cut his ties w/LGF after Skinwalkers or whatever film that he just did. Maybe his contract was up? Who knows? If it films Feb we can rule out a whole slew of directors.

Cole Houser for Jigsaw and as much as I like Roth's horror style, keep him as far away from The Punisher as possible. That's about as bad as people wanting Tarantino to do it. Running Scared blew dog and the director needs to stay away from it. Get someone who knows how to do a real action movie. I didn't have a huge problem with Hensleigh doing the first one. There is some things I would have done differently, but for his first movie as a director, he did a great job.
If they are going for straight up action and cut scenes every few seconds give the movie to Tony Scott, Luc Besson, John Woo or a JJ Abrams.

If you want an old school style actioner go with John McTiernan, Jonathon Mostow, or Richard Donner.

I would love for Doug Liman to do a Punisher movie.

Keaton would be a great choice. I just hope they don't take a cue from the video game and make Jigsaw Howard Saint's son who Frank left for dead in the first film.

It's a shame that Jonathan Hensleigh isn't returning. I thought he did a wonderful job. His attention to detail and old school style worked very well. The DVD extras on The Punisher are still some of the best I've ever seen and it has a lot to do with Hensleigh and his style.

I like Cole too but I think they should save him for MoonKnight whenever and if ever that comes out. Vaughn hands down for Jigsaw, the guys 6'5, and would stand proportianately next to Punisher in the film. The comics always draw Jigs as some big ass S.O.B. He's my choice.
