Jeff Goldblum IS The Grandmaster

If only they had Kang in the MCU as well. Kang and the Grandmaster were often playing against each other. Their battles gave us these classic encounters:

I can't wait! He's going to be a big fight promoter who pits Hulk and Thor against one another in his gladiator arena! :D

Thanos took an infinity gem from the Grandmaster, I wonder if that element of Thanos Quest makes it into the MCU

Speaking of Kang, who owns the rights to him, Fox?

I do wonder whether Marvel will keep the family connection with the Collector. Seeing how Del Toro wasn't announced, I don't think he will show up and their connection may never materialize.

They're not family. They're both the last surviving members of one of the first intelligent races and are virtually immortal.

The Grandmaster I'd say is not a pure villain, but he does a lot of stuff that leads to bad stuff happening. He like to screw around with the lives of mortals out of boredom and curiosity, basically.

The Grandmaster is in it for the lulz :cwink:

Please, Marvel/Disney, do not waste Goldblum! Allow him to star in more than just this movie, and allow him to have scenes with Benicio Del Toro's Collector. Those are my only requests.

They need to keep the Grandmaster around so that if Marvel do get the rights to Kang back they can pit them against each other. Would be cool if we even saw the Squadron Sinister show up one day in the future.

I thought he was talking about Thanos

In lieu of not knowing about Grandmaster - it was definitely easy to assume the comment was about Thanos. The comment changes a little bit now with the Goldblum casting, unless of course he turns out to be just some guy who runs gladiator matches like various posters are suggesting.

OK, I misunderstood their connection. I still don't think their backgrounds will be explored to that level.

Yeah, that needs to happen!

That was one of the more enjoyable arcs in that comic, so I hope so. It would be easy to retcon Vision's stone to the Soul Stone so Grandmaster could have the Mind Stone as well, if need be.

I wonder if he will have a sizable role in the movie, or if it will be more like the size of the Collector's role in GOTG, with a larger role in IW1&2.

TBH I'd prefer the latter, rather than the former.

I was just suggesting goldblum for vulture in spiderman but i like the idea of him as grandmaster.
