Jena Malone was on set walking with Zack Snyder. She also dyed her hair hair red around the time of production. Could both be coincidences considering she is a friend of Snyder's and also I think her hunger games character also had red hair (not sure though). Anyways Hollywood reporter says she is in the movie. Whether that translates into big character like Batgirl/oracle/robin I'm unsure. Might just be Zack giving her a cameo just because she's a friend, like how JJ gave

There's pretty much zero chance, Malone is way too big of a name for a throwaway role like that

Which does make me think - from everything we've seen so far in the trailers and read about this Batman, I really can't imagine Oracle working next to this darker, more brutal Batman. Even Alfred is giving him the hard time for being cruel.

But by that logic, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is too big of a name to be shot dead in one quick scene and then forgotten. And I actually never heard her name before, I remembered her being in "Sucker Punch" afterwards, but didn't make the connection with the name.

I think Jena Malone will play Barbara Gordon, but in this universe with Batman having been at it for two decades and Jim Gordon either retired or dead, my guess is that Barbara has become Oracle versus Batgirl. With her having been disabled by the Joker, .

Regarding Malone being convincing as a fighter, I have to disagree. The only one of the "Sucker Punch" girls that I was able to believe could fight is Abbie Cornish. I could only take her as Barbara Gordon, if she was always a computer expert as Oracle and there never was Batgirl.

..only if it gives us a link to the full Bat family, and opens up that to Nightwing, Jason Todd, and the links that were planted with the Robin costume. If it's a simple two way conversation confirming sighting of Superman or bit of surveillance, then no at this stage.

There's an earlier shot in the comic con trailer, I am pretty sure that's him torturing Harley.

But, we will see.

If they do decide to make her paralyzed then i hope that they choose this root of letting her walk later on and let her don the cape & Cowl once more.

Also especially with all the advanced tech that becomes available in the brave new world that has opened up from first contact with the Kryptonian civilization. And surely Cadmus and/or A.R.G.U.S. has the military's intel from decades of many other alien civilizations having visited earth, just secretively. I believe Superman and Jor-El would almost certainly have backed up the scout ship's and Jor-El's AI somewhere safe, and Supes will have full access to the fund of the Kryptonian tech (which is bio-tech oriented) in his Fortress of Solitude. We're going to see Cyborg created eventually. It really seems very plausible that with all of that advanced tech that somehow Barbara can get the severed neural connections regrown in her spine.
