I can't imagine that they're going anywhere near Carrie Kelly. If they did they would make her a young adult versus a teenager, but I just don't see Batman mentoring a young fangirl happening. The Batman character is creepy enough as is. I realize that in Miller's TDKR Carrie is hero-worshiping and Batman's relationship to her is ostensibly fatherly. But a father figure (not even her father) training a teenager to be a vigilante? Uh uh. It worked in a subversive social satire like Kick-ass (with an apparently mentally ill father), but this is a mainstream blockbuster.

Yeah, I will say that Carrie was a surprisingly endearing character in TDKR. Before actually reading TDKR I remember seeing the iconic picture of the two of them together and not caring for the concept much. But she is actually very plucky and likable.

I still think she's the equivalent of Scott Eastwood in Suicide Squad for this movie. A role that's probably so small but people are filling in the blanks and making it much bigger with no evidence. She could be just another Anthony Michael Hall of this whole thing.

She's a bigger star than both of those people though. Which is why people are treating it more like a Marion Cotillard or JGL in TDKR situation.
