Reboot or not, I don't think Wolverine belongs in this series of the X-Men's early years. Not to mention that for a mainstream audience, it would ask questions as to why they never remembered meeting him before. Do they all get to have mindwipes this time? I don't think it would work. I can only think of one scenario where he could be included successfully and I don't want to give anyone any ideas!

I would rather the First Class franchise try to follow the early comics (prior to the Second Genesis of 1975) where possible. There's already been enough criticism of the existing character line-ups. I'd rather see, for instance, Taylor Lautner as Thunderbird than see Wolverine. Not that I particularly want Thunderbird either.

Wolverine needs that visionary Japan tale (which might have been better delivered with Aronofsky, but still...).

If they want star power for First Class 2, there must be some other big actor and some other interesting character they can introduce.

There are ways to Include wolverine If they wanted.There were hints to X2 that Xavier and Magneto had prior knowledge of Wolverine.The big probelem Is Beast
having no prior memory of Wolverine In Last Stand.But Vaughn and Singer already showed they don't care about conterdicting The Last Stand.I am not supporting the Idea of Wolverine In sequel but the chances Increase If they would listen to some who say call first Class a reboot.

I say do The Wolverine and then wait for eather X4 after this trilogy or the eventual reboot(fox has to keep making X-Men films to keep the rights.If X4 Isn't made after the first Class trilogy Is completed then they will eventully reboot X-Men)

Not at all. I had heard that they didn't know when FC2 would go into production but it was 'possibly' in the fall of this year. The way it was expressed to me, it was nowhere near as definite as FNJ's post said it was. Especially with Wolverine and Deadpool being much more definite. Personally, I doubted it could go into production this fall because of the Wolverine and Deadpool.

However, if the Hollywood Reporter is right, then it will shoot this fall. But that's assuming they are right.

But I have now - as in today, since we started this discussion - been led to understand something else which would seem to mean THR is not right.

It's difficult to explain all this fully. But I'm not throwing anything at any wall, that's not how I operate. I'm telling you as much as I can without feeling I have said something I shouldn't.

Scheduling conflict is the matter at hand though. Im sure she has contracts with both franchises. If both shoot around the same time, its hard to see given the success and demand for Hunger Games that JL would choose FC over it. Shes more important for that franchise then she is in X-Men. Hope she does both, and Im sure Fox is taking note on her status. It would be in the best interest of Fox to make sure FC2 doesnt conflict with the Hunger Games sequel.

I hope Jennifer's role in the sequel isn't downscaled as a result of her filming Catching Fire. Her storyline in XFC2 should be interesting.

First off we have no Idea if there will be a conflict with the first Class sequel.Catching
Fire starts filming this summer.We have no Idea when the first Class sequel begins
filming.Besides the possable schedule conflict we have heard nothing that suggests
the first Class sequel will beguin filming this year.Besides The success of Hungar Games
gurantees Fox will want to use jennifer In promation when the sequel Is released.I willl gurantee when the sequel Is made Jennifer's screentime will be used majorly In trailer.

That Hollywood reporter article and a few here on Shh all mention hearing things and that it could happen. If the films do have a conflict. I would not bet alot on her returning to FC2.

Great times for Mystique's fans, definety.

Fox will clearly give Raven an even more interesting role next time, since Jennifer is really becoming a pretty decent star, and this is just the beggining of her career.

on other hand, Im a bit sad that the baddies of this new franchise are getting more shine on the industry than the x-team.

We need a new star on the x-team!

hopefully the sequel will bring a new actor that can become a big star too. Id like to see a younger actor becoming bigger just after the x-franchise. like happened with Hugh.

But not another major franchise. Obviously that didn't happen with Van Helsing - he even made fun of it in his last Broadway show. He wasn't locked into another series of movies after any of the X-Men movies.

Considering Hunger Games has made more in it's first 3 days than XMFC made in its entire domestic run, that series needs to be the priority. People want to see her as Katniss again before they see her as Mystique.

right now, Jennifer only has the sequel to Hunger Games.

I think some of you feel a bit insecure about Jennifer being on two franchises at the same time.

Actors use to have many proyects and the studios are used to work their agendas to let the actors shoot different movies. its not a big issue.

and the only press she did for X2 was an appearance on Letterman.If It hadn't been for failure of Catwoman and demise of the Jinx spinoff she probally wouldn't have returned for Last Stand.Plus Jennifer has a contract with Fox.This Is fox.why would they release
her from the contract when her being In film Is now bound to create more attention for
the first Class sequel.All this talk Is mute untill we know whata timeframe Matthew Vaughn Is working on.
