Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart are the American Ultra

Yeah that's why I'm taking it back. I was watching it on my iPhone, and it doesn't bad. At least it doesn't have that 'video blur' (happens during steady cam shots or night scenes if the DoP didn't fix it) that I hate to death.

Yep, looks cinematic. And I really like how the movie is lit.

I'm one who definitely prefers film over digital, but this doesn't seem like one of those cases where the digital cinematography looks bad. Nima Nourizadeh has a good sense of style and visuals and even made a found footage film like Project X look interesting. I like how this movies looks. The premise, though, I dunno. Person finding out he's really a dangerous spy has kinda been done to death. Not a fan of Max Landis yet .
i didnt know that he is the writter. hmmm interesting.

Saw the trailer this kinda looks dope.

Pretty funny and accurate mock interview between Eisenberg and Stewart. :funny:

I heard about this a few weeks ago and thought it had potential.

Then I saw the trailer......Blowpher is in it.

Instant pass.

I'm the complete opposite. This movie looked like a total pass... And I'm a stoner!

The other day seen topher was in it and said "yea I'll watch it on Netflix"

And it's funny the stoner movie hasn't adopted dabs yet I mean it's such a big part of the culture now I'm disappointed no one in this film is smoking dabs. Just a gripe

The one bit that's sold me on seeing this:

"He killed two operatives with a spoon!"

"A-a ****ing spoon!?"

It's a decent movie, not great. Good for a bargain matinee or a Redbox rental. I could see it getting a cult following. But IMHO, it's not as fun as seeing like big high concept stuff happening in like small, enclosed places like say Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz.

Huffington Post actually gave it a stellar review.

I thought this movie was 'meh'.

This was like a attempt at a stoner comedy Jason Bourne/Hanna type movie. The film isn't that funny for a comedy and the action scenes are not anything special.

I didn't really buy into the relationship between Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart's characters so find it hard to care about them.

Walton Goggin's joker style villain was underused.

Topher Grace was in his *****ebag character mode which he plays so well. His character was probably the highlight of the movie.
