BvS Jesse Eisenberg IS Lex Luthor - Part 10

The thing that really annoys me is the Riddler comparisons. Like c'mon, you know you're only saying that because he has shoulder length red hair.

Jesse's Lex is a big part of why I 'm hyped for this film. The more I get of him the more I want to see...as I KNOW their is more going on their then meets the eye. I'm curious to know what his plan is and I'm dying to hear him speak to Superman and witness that confrontation.

People are writting Lex off already but in the context of a two hour film...we really haven't seen squat yet.

I just really want him to top off the performance with a statement of him saying
"Lex Luthor: The greatest criminal mind of all time."

You play the Otis theme from the Reeve movie and watch Jesse's Lex...fits so well.

Once Lex kills someone (or orders someone's death) in cold blood on screen people will probably rethink their opinion of him. Humor is a great way to give a false sense of security...and I think Lex knows that.

That doesn't change the performance.

God bless you! God bless everyone!

I could see him murder 200 children like ISIS and I will still see Riddler/Gene Hackman Lex in there :o

That doesn't change the performance.

But we haven't seen Jesse's performance yet. That was my point, a few clips of him being smug does not a two hour movie make.

This Lex is an energetic, young entrepreneur who doesn't fit in with the big business crowd. He's from another generation and is absolutely socially awkward. His demeanour reminds me of Jim Carrey's Nigma in BF. By going younger and weird, they really contrast with Ben's older, broody Bruce. With Lex remaining a self made man, and Bruce largely inheriting his parent's fortune. They're opposites.

Lex'll fix it. :cwink:

But how much of that is an act?

That is the question, I have a feeling their is a whole other side to Lex that we haven't seen yet.

The whole defense of "it's a facade" "it's a mask" is a weak argument to me.
He can have a facade and not make it that of a hyper active, little kid.
If you look at the DCAu Luthor there is a lot of him "wearing a mask" without it being extremely corny and out of place.

Also I still don't see how people think Lex, bald head or not is menacing. Maybe menacing in a, and I'm not trying to be funny or make a joke, in a pedophile or a potential mass shooter type of way. But not in the way Lex or a villain in this kinda movie should be

Hope to be proven wrong

Those comparisons and changes were brought up in B89. Keaton was the socially inept introvert, while Joker was the flamboyantly social extrovert.

Bruce was changed to fit Burton's vision of the character and his world, and Keaton fitted that mold.
Complaints are still made about that to this day, while many others, like myself, loved that change. It brought something new and different, and it worked. It wasn't a fail.

And like with EisenLex, while it should be accepted for its own merit, not everyone is going to like it.
Same thing with Leto's Joker.
There's an inherit gamble with each change or choice of actor and the whole thing can be compared to Marmite. You either love it or hate it.

True respect can only be found in the full performance IMO. So to those who hate the feel of this Lex or how the Joker looks in SS...all I can say is WAIT, because you may end up loving it.

Yep because we haven't seen his full performance yet.

I'm waiting to see him lose his temper, he's been nothing but smug in the clips we've seen of him thus far. How is he going to react when his plans get foiled...that's what I'm waiting to see.

The campy tone he provided in the trailer is just ONE aspect of the character. Lex is a character with many layers...and Eisenberg has only hinted to how dark Lex will most probably become from the previous trailer.

People who've encountered Max Landis and Max Landis himself, have a feeling that Eisenberg's Luthor mya be based on him...

"If man won't kill God, the devil will do it!"

Crazy scientist Lex.

That first piece...It really flops when someone is trying to be snarky and witty but doesn't know the difference between 'too' and 'to'. Like...don't try and appear wryly intelligent if you have the lexical knowledge of a second grader.

But it is a facade you don't like the facade they have chosen which is find but its not a weak excuse when it is clearly a facade.

Can people please learn the difference between camp and humor/energy? He is nowhere near as over the top as Jim Carrey.

Hackman and Spacey vibes?

Noooo.

There's a manic energy to this Luthor that we have not seen in live action.

I think it's definitely public Luthor, but he's obviously a little bit "crazy-smart", which I love. There's a dash of mad scientist here along with the corporate fellow.

Like I once said...

To tell you the truth, all three of this versions of Lex seem like they could just be the same guy at different points in his life/different situations.

Eisenberg is young and eccentric. He really comes off as weird and a little goofy to me.

Hackman is the same, but older. But, for some reason likes to surround himself with idiots and/or unloyal people. Doesn't give a **** about killing people. In fact, he likes it.

Spacey is mellowed out because he isn't around idiots and/or unloyal people. Doesn't care about killing people.

They all like to make some reference to history, religion, and/or literature.

Still feel this way after the recent trailer.
