Your "concerns" are not right. Because neither you or I have seen the film and please, go watch some reaction videos. See what others have said. I spent litereally all nite doing that. No joke. And I can't say there aren't any that were negative but there were also many, many that were positive about Jesse's Lex.

And the only thing you are rubbing in anyone's face is your usual bovine excrement, just as when you showed up with a name proclaiming one type of BS only to change it to another load of BS, neither of which I think you yourself even believe. So, surprise, you liked the trailer, but OH NOES, Jesse is BAD. It's a forgone conclusion. Sell that excrement to the tourists bunky.

I just admitted I was wrong about Superman getting shafted because the Trailer SHOWED me i was wrong
You cant admit you were wrong about EisenLex being comical despite IT being showed. This is obtuseness.

The great part now is that You cant get a Mob of posters to label me a Troll.Evidence is out there.
Karmas a ***** aint it?

I think he may be referring to them having at some point had a relationship or Lex chasing her like in the MOS comic, STAS and Lois & Clark. I agree I never liked that aspect.

Most people still label you unbearably annoying though.

Wow... You think so much of me and my supposed power here on the Hype. That's sad. I'm J.A.F.A. man, just like you. I have no power to raise a Hype army. And since I liked Jesse, literally EVERYTHING I saw and heard, no... I can't say he's bad, though he is comical... That's partially the point, obviously. The obtuseness is stating that as some sort of fact everyone agrees on. Since I honestly DON'T have a problem with Jesse in the part and there are others as well... yeah you see where this is going? You really aren't good at this.

You are mad simply because I and others know what you do from the start, with your oh so clever username which you carry over whenever you post. I don't feel anger Mr. Stirrer... It's pity, mixed with shame that you are exactly the type of poster that gives other people in this community a bad name. Cherrio Ser Stirrer the Weak.

"That's a three syllable word for any thought too big for little minds."

If that line doesn't scream Lex Luthor than I don't know what does.

The thing is... To me it's obvious that the "wink wink" going on in the first view of Luthor with Clark and Bruce, ISN'T to the audience. It's Luthor mooning our heroes. It's Luthor quite obviously playing the role of the smarmy jackass, but that's not who he is. He's not really trying to be this persona. It's a false front. The REST of the trailer, that dialog? Yeah, this is the genius, amoral Lex, people just have the IMAGE of Brown and Rosenbaum in their heads I think. But what he says:

"The oldest lie in America is that power is innocent."

"That's a three syllable word for any thought too big for little minds."

"Man cannot kill God... Then the Devil will do it."

Seriously... That feels NOTHING like Luthor to anyone else out there?

I think you're spot on when you say people have that image of Rosenbaum and Brown on their heads. They are the closest we have come to what Lex Luthor has been in the main Superman continuity since the late 80s but I think people need to remember that Lex Luthor's history in the comics has had many interpretations. All of which are valid and yet some quite different. Jesse's take is yet another new take but he's still Lex Luthor.

Lets remember folks... THIS was the Lex Luthor of Superman for a LONG time:[YT]jX_mE5Vi2Q[/YT]

Yeah, it's campy and WAY more over the top than Jesse... And it would have been a valid take on the character for it's time.

I also think that as usual... People are JUMPING to conclusions as they often do here. You have seen LESS than five minutes of Jesse, and are disregarding the evidence IN the trailer as well as what has been written in places like EMPIRE about how Jesse's Lex is putting on a front... IT'S THERE IN THE TRAILER since his tone and dialog when talking to Bruce and Clark is not what he sounds like elswhere... But as always this is going to go over some out there's head's until they sit down in the theater.

I liked the mad scientist Lex parts of the trailer. The first scene I found a little grating, though, even if it's obvious that's a front.

I think it's supposed to be grating though. We know who Lex is the characters probably don't yet have that knowledge. So we know it's a facade right from the get go.

Yeah, I know. Still kind of bugged me, but I know it's a me thing.

I'm still expecting some sort of Lex trailer like we got with Zod. Maybe for Superbowl?

The idea is this: Introduce a false side to Lex, that only Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne see...Superman and Batman will both discover his true persona.

If you read between the lines you can clearly see he's not being pleasant or friendly to them - he's being smarmy and sarcy. His eccentricity has developed into that little light performance, whereas the true nature of it is something dark and genius.
I think the trailer attempted to portray as many layers as it could to him.
I think, no matter what, he's always going to be flamboyant. It hints throughout all of the scenes with Jesse, even though it has been toned down significantly. It's just who he is an actor and the character that he's playing. You're not going to get Rosenbaum or an animated Clancy Brown with Jesse.

However...I much rather wait to see the change in his character when his hair has gone. There's something completely unsettling and dark in that bald pic of him and I don't think it was by accident.
There's no smarmy smile or eccentricity behind those eyes...just something evil.

What annoys me is he's putting his own personal thoughts on Jesse as an excuse to why the trailer doesn't show him as deceptive, intelligent and psychotic. It's like me saying Wonder Woman doesn't look good simply because I have no interest in the character, fact is while I don't really care about WW she looks awesome in the movie (and hot :cwink:). I also hope her arc is a good one and I'm not gonna want WW's role to be reduced simply because I don't really care for the character. It's just wrong and silly thinking.

Huh? When did I say I have no interest in the character? I wouldn't be here discussing him otherwise. And all I'm saying is how Eisenberg is coming across to me. And that is that it's like the most ineffectual villain I've seen in a long time. I don't want to have contempt for Lex. Given the type of villain he's supposed to be I should be impressed with how elaborate his evil plans are. Granted, at this point we'd simply not know the extent of his plans so in lieu of that he should at the very least come off as threatening in the trailers(even if only on a subtle level) and he doesn't. He comes off quite the opposite in fact. And I'm taking this entirely outside of the initial party scene. Leave that aside and he still seems pathetic. Lex Luthor should not seem like some pathetic nerd who couldn't stand up to a 5th grader.

Yeah, if there's one annoying cliche I don't like, it's when the villain pursues the hero's girlfriend/love interest. It's like, of ALL the women in the world, he of course picks THAT one. Okay.

I never said you didn't do you even bother to read my posts? I was expressing that you don't like Lex in this movie because you don't like Eisenberg. Which I compared to my lack of interes in WW yet I want her to have a good arc and I like what I've seen so far. Anyway let's just draw a line over it or under it whatever the expression is.

100

It's just a cheap way to create tension

Lex must love to use that "You know the oldest lie in America ?" line. We can hear it twice in trailers only, probably more throughout the movie.

But I do like him in certain roles though. I liked him in the Social Network(hated the character but I figured I was supposed to so his acting was on point) and in Zombieland. But I knew in my guts that when he was cast as Lex it was a big mistake. But I waited patiently and hoped that he'd prove me wrong. Well now wil what we've seen I'm firmly convinced that I was right, unfortunately. I'll still watch the movie and maybe it'll be alright but at this point my doubt of that is Grand Canyon-level wide after this last trailer.

Hackman, Spacey, Brown, Shea and Rosenbaum...I had little to no issues with all of their different takes on this character so I'm pretty flexible, I'd say. Eisenberg however is the first time I've seen this character make me cringe(and not in a good way).

Or not. It was probably just cut with different endings for each specific trailer.

^I'd sure like to know what the full line is.

Well actually he's been seen to have said the line in two completely different settings, wearing two completely different sets of clothes. So he actually probably does use it a number of times.

But we don't see his mouth actually say the words. So it's entirely possible and even likely that he doesn't say it in those scenes in the movie but in some other scene we are unaware of at this point.
