Unfortunately, she was referring to Gene Hackman's version.

:o

Yes, she may have been talking about Hackman's Luthor. But it could have also been Eisenberg's. Remember, they're indistinguishable. She might have gotten the two mixed up, as so many of us have. :o

That is true. I don't think even Eisenberg and Hackman know which Luthor they played.

:o

Indeed. I heard that Eisenberg recently watched Superman '78 and exclaimed, "WHOA! I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS IN THIS MOVIE!"

Nevertheless, Hackman got paid for both of them.

"Lex Luthor ? I'm Lex Luthor"

:o

I want a scene like this with Jessie, but maybe the lady kneeling before Superman. :woot:

Speaking on his role as the villanous Lex Luthor, Eisenberg mentions that "in a lot of ways, Luthor is more of a stretch than any character you would do in an independent movie, which is normally the place you stretch. So in that way it was not at all compromised. If anything, it was the best, most advantageous role I've ever been given... it's because the opportunity to do an interesting character on a movie of that scale is incredibly rare. The character is written by the phenomenal writer Chris Terrio. His background is not in comic books, so he was coming at it from emotion and story and created this really wonderful character, as enigmatic as he is emotionally honest."

Comic book movies have changed since the days of Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor. As a successful playwright and having recently authored his first book, Eisenberg enthusiastically buys in to the changes and Terrio's overall approach. "Now people expect the tone to be more realistic just because we live in a world where the average audience member has a sense of psychological motivations... [it raises the question] how can one man - Superman - have so much power? These are the kind of things that we talk about when we think about authoritarian states, when we talk about Vladimir Putin having a strong foothold in Eastern Europe. They're addressing geopolitics in this movie and not in a way that's pretentious or esoteric. Terrio cleverly ties in these really exciting superhero elements with these really sophisticated, philosophical themes in a much smarter, different way. That's what I like to do with my writing: to have these very sophisticated debates happen on very basic levels."

Eisenberg is an intelligent dude, man.

Better than the one that got him an oscar nom.?

Well... that's interesting :word:

Loving what he's gotten out of this movie. Sounds promising and interesting.

Eisenberg sounds like he's in love with Terrio. Looks like he belted out one hell of a script.

I'm willing to bet that Luthor only get his shaved head at the end of the movie and is locked up. The EW image with him in a prison jumpsuit and with the classic shaved head kinda gives me that impression. Not to mention the fact they didn't show it in the trailer so far or other pictures released.

Why is everyone always so confident that it was a prison jumpsuit? We saw the bloody neck of it. That's all.

Yeah and if Luthor is already in prison by the end of this film I'll be pissed off.

Agreed.

Perhaps the shaved head version is Future Luthor - traveling back in time to warn the present Luthor.

true. There was no collar.

I hope he doesn't end up in prison. I want him free and political strong to create problems

lol

Not sure I want too many characters in the DCEU to be traveling through time, having visions etc. I would use these tricks with certain characters & sparingly

For my part, save the time traveling stuff for the Flash. If you have several that can do it, it takes away the mystery and epicness of it.

The way he is talking about the character really makes me think we will never get the Lexosuit thankfully.

I would rather he steal forty cakes and Superman say that is terrible.

This fills me with glee. YES.

The movie needs a stand-out villain and the Lex character needs to make a cinematic come-back.

Yeah but he's not a TRUE bald man like Brian Heisenberg is plus Jessie is WAY two scrawny and yung to play a guy who is suppossed to be the same age as superman plus not a fysical threat to him. Terribul casting.

:o

As a matter of fact, if Snyder references forty cakes in any way in the film, I will give a standing ovation in the cinema.

But yeah, I absolutely hate the lexosuit. A simple way to completely destroy the character and reduce him to a punching thug.
