Matt can easily show up. I hope he does.
Does he need to wear a helmet?
When is this series suppose to hit?
"I never thought I'd do much action stuff," Colter said. "It's as close to being a black Superman as you can be!"

"Marvel actually gives you a special training class in how not to say too much in interviews [laughs]. Were in the middle of shooting AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage is a very interesting character who just happens to have super strength and unbreakable skin. Hes a neighborhood hero, very much linked to New York and Jessica Jones. Its all part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Luke Cage is a darker, grittier, more tangible character than Iron Man or Thor. He likes to keep things close to his chest, operate on the hush-hush. He has these abilities but hes not sure how and when to use them. Hes a very nuanced character."
This doesn't scream Luke Cage. At all.
I think it makes sense in the MCU, though. Superheroes and superpowers are not all that common, so it makes sense to keep them under wraps at first.
This isn't his show. Ever heard of character development? He'll evolve as a character and become the Luke Cage we know and love in his own show. This doesn't scream Luke Cage. At all.
But at what cost of sacrificing his personality? The Avengers were new, yet we still have all of them acting exactly like their counterparts. Luke has always been an outspoken and opinionated guy, and what Colter described is like the exact opposite.
Kind of makes me wish we got Luke's series first. Having an established Cage makes more sense interacting with Jessica.

All the Marvel press releases say 2015.When is this series suppose to hit?
Jeph Loeb, Head of Television for Marvel:
“Right now, I’m super excited about what’s going on with Jessica Jones,” he said, referring to the next series in line for Netflix. “Krysten Ritter is killing it. [Doctor Who’s] David Tennant is playing [villain Zebediah] Kilgrave -- believe me, when we do this again, you’ll be talking about him in the same way you’re talking about Vincent D'onofrio. It’s an extraordinary cast. People are going to finally see Luke Cage [Mike Colter] for the first time.”
“There’s lots of things of richness in there and then, as you know, we just announced we’re following that up with Luke Cage and after that Iron Fist,” he continued. “Knowing that and knowing that those characters are going to then interact with each other and knowing how unique each one of those voices are and how they approach everything differently and how they come to each situation. You’ll be shocked -- shocked! -- to find out that when they become The Defenders they actually don’t get along.”
“When I look down that road, there’s really more than enough for us to be able to do,” Loeb concluded. “But that doesn’t mean there aren’t going to be some surprises along the way.”

They switched Luke Cage for Iron Fist because Cage seems further along in the development stage than Iron Fist is.
Luke Cage already has a lead actor and showrunner.
