I mostly excited to see how they get to play Purple Man. He is Jones' arch enemy after all.

You guys are likely joking, but Kilmer as the big bad crime boss in this Netflix series is an awesome idea! Kilmer can really throw himself into a role. I don't know what he's been doing with his career lately, but this could be very mutually beneficial for both Kilmer and the series.

Kilmer is kind of hit or miss. I've seen him be downright awful in things like Island of Dr. Moreau or Batman Forever ("HAAAARRRRVEEEEY! IIIIIIIII'MMM BAAAATMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!") but then once in a while he'll wow me in something like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or even MacGruber (seriously, he's f***ing hilarious in it).

So yeah, if he took the material seriously, he could probably make a pretty awesome villain in this.

Also, Abbie Cornish might be really good as Jessica Jones.

Kilmer is an amazing actor, IMO, but he sort of adjusts to the level of the production, if you know what I mean. He'll play campy and ridiculous in a movie that is campy and ridiculous, but then think about his roles in movies like Heat, The Saint, etc., or his best role ever, Doc Holiday in Tombstone.

I'd love for him to have a place in the MCU, and now that it has been mentioned I'll have a hard time not thinking about who he could play! :)

Yeah, he WAS really good in The Saint, The Ghost and the Darkness, and of course Tombstone (although I wasn't a big fan of that film for whatever reason). I guess what bugs me about him is I think that he COULD have been a good Batman if he'd given a crap about the movie. Granted, Batman Forever would have still been a campy nightmare, but I might not have hated it as much if I felt like Kilmer was actually trying.

I actually don't mind Kilmer as Batman. I actually prefer him to Keaton. He was just more convincing as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Maybe that was just because Forever actually TRIED to be about Batman and explore his character, unlike the Burton films.

I had no problem with Kilmer either.

he would have made the perfect Henry Pym in the early 90s. he's good at playing smart and crazy (if needed).

if they were adjust his meds and put him on weight watchers, i think Kilmer could make a decent purple man.

Purple Man having some pudge kind of makes sense. His powers aren't physical in nature and hedonism is kind of what he's all about.

i was just trying to be nice. i think Kilmer should lose some ******* weight. :woot:

Well, that's not our judgement to make.

I certainly don't think he has the appropriate girth for The Kingpin. That's kind of a mean thing to say.

good thing that I didn't say it, then. I've never suggested him for Kingpin. I think that he looks unhealthy. I'd love it if he were to take better care of himself. he'd certainly get more roles. if Robert Downey jr could bounce back, then it should be really easy for Kilmer. and of course it's our "judgment" to make. we're casting fictional characters. it's not like I'm calling him up on the phone to crack on his weight.

Well it's Netflix, So I wouldn't be at all surprised if they take advantage of that and push things content-wise.

My knowledge of Jessica Jones is limited but didn't she have a costume at one point and called herself Gem? I think it'd be funny to see a callback to that.

She was called Jewel. She wore a white costume and had purple hair.

Jessica also adopted a darker superhero identity called Knightress when she teamed up with Luke Cage to take down Daredevil villain the Owl.

Awesome, maybe it'll be a running gag where she keeps thinking of super hero names that aren't very good.

Would the black/red one be her Knightress outfit or is that somebody else?

^
Yep that costume is the Knightress one.

There was a running joke in the comics with Luke trying to get Jessica to take up the superhero name Power Woman

I'd just as soon that the series sidestep the "inevitable" hookup with Luke. They don't have to slavishly follow the comics, even if there is eventually flirtation between them. Let them date other folks for now.

Especially since if some folks feel compelled to go "by continuity", it was a rather, um, non-romantic encounter that brought Danielle into play.. yeesh. I'd rather leave drunken pity-sex and pregnancy on the shelf.

But that's what makes it so interesting. These are two who are VERY different and their first "encounter" was decidedly unromantic (drunken one-night stand). But over time, it became something much more genuine and eventually led to marriage. That's why it works and a TV show is the perfect place to play that progression out.

Alexandra Daddario, Jaimie Alexander if the sif thing doesn't go to far for her and she wants to be the lead character. Yvonne Strahovski(rumored for Ms.Marvel), Alexa Davalos(The Chronicles of Riddick) My dark horse pick Tiffany Dupont(ABC Greek).Claire Holt(CW Orignals: left the show and is a Black Belt in TKD). Adrianne Palicki(G.I.Joe Retaliation),
Jessica Elise De Gouw(NBC Dracula, CW Arrow guest star as Helena Bertinelli The Huntress).
