Charlie Cox, while not exactly being an unknown, isn't really a name actor. I'm more or less expecting the same here.

This is the new Marvel show I'm looking for forward to the most. I love the Jessica Jones character. They better do her justice.

Well, if Netflix decides to keep things in house, how about Rachel Brosnahan? She's appeared on House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. Very solid actress and smokin' hot in a realistic sort of way.

I would like that. She is hot. She was on the Blacklist, but sadly was killed off, so no more eye candy to look at. :csad:

She needs her own series.

Who is that cleavage... I mean, who is that?

Shannon Woodward, star of the recently cancelled Raising Hope sitcom. I've been impressed by her work on the show.

She might make a good Jessica Jones.

Was just about to suggest her.

She has the perfect look for JJ. I don't know how do describe it. A young, tired, motherly, street wise, witty, ordinary look.

Other actresses I think could work: Ellie Kemper, Ali Larter, Amy Smart.

I know next to nothing about JJ, but what about Missy Peregrym? Solid actress, good with both comedy and drama, also can portray the physical side of things. And just generally has a great personality.

I remember her from Heroes.

Anyway, I saw the IGN's comic 101 video for Jessica Jones and now I'm on board for her TV show.

Should this be called Jessica Jones or Aka Jessica Jones?

Jessica Jones, imo. But I would like an episode with the title you suggested.

AKA Jessica Jones sounds like something that would be on the CW or something. No thanks.

That's what it was originally going to be called though, before this deal with Netflix.

Yeah, but now that we have the Netflix deal, consistency of name is a good thing.

A friend of mine thought that Jewel Staite would have made a good Jessica Jones

Looks to me like Jessica Jones will be tied with Luke Cage in the series. And it's probably going to depend on flashbacks of Jessica in her costumed days.

While he reveals that casting is underway on the next Marvel Netflix Series, he doesn't say much else, as he is always under the watchful eye of Marvel Studios:

"Right now, the writers' rooms are open and they're looking at casting Jessica. If you sense some hesitation in my voice, that's classic Marvel fashion. They like to keep that veil of secrecy. But Daredevil is already shooting, since that's out first. Eventually the series will run very close together. You can then have a separate season where the characters will cross over."

Instead of her origins being closely tied to Spider-Man, where she's supposed to have witnessed the spider bite that gave Peter his powers, do you think Jessica Jones will be tied to Daredevil instead?

After all, she was in an accident that killed her family where there's a military convoy carrying radioactive chemicals which grant her special powers after being in a coma for months. What if, instead of a military convoy, it's the same truck that nearly runs over a man and Matt Murdock pushes the guy out of the way and is blinded. However, the truck could also crash into the Jones family car. That would tie the two of them together even though they never realise it until years later.

Was it very important in the comics?

Monaghan would be a solid pick for a series lead, and could cross over into movies. I don't know that I'd want to watch a series with Jessica Biel and don't think she really suits the character. I see Lynn Collins and Keri Russell in there too.

Erica Cera was in Eureka. Don't know if she's leading lady material though. She seems like someone who would show up in a procedural show as a supporting character.

I hope casting gets underway ASAP. Who will be the supporting characters, if any? The Alias series didn't have that many, besides, Luke or Ant-Man. And of course, Ant-Man has his movie project, and Luke's series won't be started yet.
