sad thing is almost every one who watched him learned something new.

There's an anthropological theory that states Africa is the "cradle of life" for the evolution of human species. That is, all great evolutionary advances in the Homo genome occurred in Africa first and spread throughout the world from there.

That's probably what he meant. But at least he got it half right. He's still smarter than most of his audience.

I agree. Africa was once important and now it's just a backdrop for "feed-the-children" commercials and 15 minute recruitment videos for the Peace Corps.
