I only heard the rumor from MTV or something where it was for Batman, and he ended up saying he knows that he's not right for Batman.

2. WARNER BROTHERS TAKING THE EARLY NEXT STEP IN THE COMIC BOOK MOVIE INDUSTRY WITH THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA MOVIE.

The WGA strike is clearly more important than this story, but not one movie… not even TRANSFORMERS generated more discussion than Warner Brothers decision earlier this year to officially greenlight a JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA movie, despite having only recently rebooted both the Batman and Superman franchises.
I’ve never quite seen as much fanboy discussion ever generated for one single tentpole release than this one. It was madness and it just seemed to continually get closer and closer to a boiling point when it became obvious that Christian Bale/Brandon Routh wouldn’t be involved and then when the names of casting auditions leaked… the Internet went ****ing crazy.
The strike may have been more important, but no story was getting more coverage than this. The names of Megan Gale, Armie Hammer, Common, Adam Brody, Teresa Palmer and more were hardly superhero material this time a year ago… but those are the people who look likely to be part of one of the biggest movies of all time.
Batman and Superman on screen together for the first time. But not the way we all wanted it to be. And boy did we voice our disgust.

Biggest movie of all time? Internet going f-ing crazy? Wow, maybe I was underestimating this movie when it comes to how important it must be to get it right, and not mess it up too much....

Dr Miller has been confirmed by Warner Bros. as the director of 'Justice League of America', a large-scale superhero epic featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and a host of others, "The Justice League superheroes are in fact related to ancient Greek gods and that will be my reference point."

The film will showcase a detailed blending of live-action, motion-capture, and CGI animation. Dr George Miller has also confirmed he will direct the fourth Mad Max film, only known as Road Fury.

Reminds me of those JLU episodes, were Amanda Waller telling bats "We simulated a fight between the JL and U.S. and every single time the U.S. gets destroyed, with this we have a fighting chance" or something along those lines. I thought that was pretty interesting....

Yea i know we havent had any new news lately besides the whole eva green rumor. But if when the new guy becomes president of wb in a few days, he might reveal jla news/cast when he talks about the studios upcoming plans. So if that is true that is only a few days away. Here's hoping when this guy becomes president we actually heard some news on the movie and/or reveal of the cast.

For me the WB guy only has to say "The Justice League will began production in February/March." I don't mindif they never announce, you know for some suspense, too see if we get this random photos of actors spotted on set. Even actors that weren't even mentioned. Like, "OMG Hugo Weaving is talking to Brody and Common, WTF is this?!?!?!" lol

I wouldn't pin my hopes on there being anything major revealed in the next couple of days, how many times now has it been that we were suppose to get an announcement on a certain date? How many insiders, sources, pals, spies, friends of friends, onlookers, fellow diners and party goers have been wrong as to when we'd get an announcement?

That all sounds good to me. Grant Morrison played with the Olympian Gods analogy quite a bit when he was writing JLA. If you think about it, the Leaguers each have a strong identification with a member of the greek pantheon.

Superman = Zeus, King of the Gods, Ruler of Mt. Olympus, god of the sky, thunder and justice.

Batman = Hades, Lord of the Dead, god of the Underworld and wealth.

Wonder Woman = Athena, Goddess of wisdom, crafts and strategic battle.

Green Lantern =Apollo, God of the Sun, of light, healing, music, poetry

Flash = Hermes. The Messenger of the Gods, God of commerce, speed, thieves and trade.

Aquaman = Poseidon, Lord of the Sea, god of the seas, horses and eathquakes.

The only other member I can't find an obvious analogy for is the Martian Manhunter....although if you wanted to, you could play up the fact that Ares' Roman name is Mars.

If that's the case, expect this movie's b.o. to take a hit, again. Comparing superheroes to gods is never a good thing. Anyone remember SR? The cast is already questionable and throwing religion in it will make matters worse. This movie has gotten a lot of buzz but I'd say about 70% is wtf or something of that nature. I just don't see how JLA can come on the big screen as a team and be taken seriously, to a degree. You can only humanize them so much...........I don't know. They really should have used Darkseid for this movie. Why does WB like having villians with no powers as the main villians? LL, Joker now Maxwell Lord. Can't the villian be smart and have powers, hence Darkseid!

^ comparing heroes to the gods of greek mythology (which most modern day heroes, stories and origins, do for the most part have connections to greek mythology, in a way)
Is hardy “throwing religion in it” as you say (at least not in anyway, for the religious fanatics to get all up in arms about) mythological and religious iconic scenes, can be found in almost any hero movie (and have been used throughout the history of comics)
that’s seems to just be an example, anyway
I doubt there will be any major refers in the movie, that will directly link in to religion, or gods

For some reason, DC tends to refer to their heroes as gods. Don't think it won't go unnoticed. There was even talk that it affected SR even though the hero was raped by Singer. As long as they don't go overboard which I'm sure they will, especially with WW don't be surprised if there is a backlash.
