JL Casting Call Update

The frustrating thing is if they are casting a 30+ Woman out there then why not try for a good actress like Connolly, Weisz, Belluci, etc..

I'd just like to point out what people have been pointing out all along. She really hasn't done anything acting-wise yet. The only people who have really seen her are George Miller and his casting director, so we don't KNOW that she's not a good actress.

We don't know either way, really. You don't know, and I don't know. The only thing we have to go on right now is her looks, unfortunately, and that's the reason I'm defending her, because in my book she looks like Wonder Woman. As far as acting goes we're ALL just going to have to wait and see.

I don't think they want anything to do with this movie.
There was a time when both Biels and Reynolds lobbied for certain parts but for some reason neither are them want past of this film. I know the script has been getting positive reviews but there's no guarantee peeps have even read the real thing with so many false stories. And if Biel and Reynolds saw the real thing and didn't want to be apart of it, something is wrong.

I'm sorry but that simply doesn't fly with me, this is an iconic role and she is over 30 with no credits to her name, it's not like she is some hidden gem. This character to me deserves the type of casting Batman got in Bale.

As for her looks, well Ive made my views on them and obviously we disagree.

can we just give it up? Gale is WW and Hammer is Batman, its done, just be glad that we're actually GETTING a damn movie made

No. :o

First of all, how is it done? I missed the official press release from WB, can you link it to me? Thanks. Also, Variety and HR have stated WB execs are unsure how to proceed because of the strike(there is no shooting script). So again, how is it done?

Also, I will not be satisfied with an inferior product just because it is getting made, sorry. I would rather wait longer for perhaps something better than what we seem to be getting now.

That's not how message boards work, if they did all we'd have is threads with ppl going "that looks cool" and such. For my part, if these 2 are (Mis)cast I simply won't post here until a pic arrives, I'll mod it as i asked to when i initially thought this had potential, but i wont spend time arguing with those that seem to not care who is in it as long as it gets made.

The problem is we dont know what the hell is going no with Wb is the cast lock? could be or could not be, do we have a shooting script? maybe maybe not. Untill Wb official comes out with the real cast and real info for the movie we dont really know what is going on.

Agreed! This is no different than them casting Jack Black for GL. Casting is wrong. I don't have a problem with Gale its just that this mixed cast is crazy! And I won't support any movie that just says to hell with the fans. Only a idiot will eat shrimp when he paid for and ordered lobster. :o

And that seems to be the problem, people just want to see a JL film for the sake of seeing the JL on screen and they want it now. Why now? What's wrong with 2 or 3 years down the track especially when you don't have a writers strike to contend with?

Heck if all the news that the studio is leaking out false information the real cast could possibly be none of the rumored people and be totally different people.

I won't fault you for being optimistic, one can only hope this is the case.

He wasn't an unknown, he had his resume built on a soap opera.
And he was fired from said soap opera. What's worse? A dismissal on a skimpy resume or no resume at all? I'm willing to give Gale a chance, which says a lot because my fears were justified with SR.

Warners wants to make this film on the cheap.

Honestly, I hate when people ***** and moan about the age of actors for roles. As long as they look the role and have the acting ability, there's no need for complaints.
Well yeah, but getting fanboys (or fangirls) to agree on look and acting ability is a pipedream.

I agree - for a WW solo film. But they're obviously going for unknowns here for a reason, and his name is George Miller.

Personally I'd like to see an older Superman, someone with great acting ability too, I know Jim Caviezel was interested, perhaps if he bulked up a bit ;)

Agreed! This movie wouldn't even be discussed if Marvel didn't announce their plans for the Avengers. They should just wait til Nolan finishes his trilogy. It makes no sense!

I don't understand that though Pat, I mean why scrimp on the most important aspect ? and even if they weren't gonna pay mega fees there is a middle ground, they needn't go to the very bottom rung IMO.

You need quality actors, especially for a film like this.

I add Armie Hammer as Batman! :D More will come with some others "confirmations" by IESB.net

The Justice League! Cast

Just add this and were good to go. :)

Well, I tend to think we wouldn't even be discussed JL if Warners were happy with SR, but that's JMHO. Marvel doesn't even have a script yet for Avengers that I know about - correct me if I'm wrong?

You and I see it as the most important aspect, but Warners apparently doesn't. They probably think the film will sell on the characters alone, much like selling Transformers on robots and fan nostalgia. In a way, I can understand the approach. I grew up with Superfriends on Saturday mornings; I would bet there's a HUGE market for just *that* audience among the GP. The trick is in attracting all four quadrants - a goal that even Bay and Spielberg had their doubts would happen with Transformers. To their shock, it did. But that was a balls-to-the-walls action flick - a HUGE crowd pleaser. It remains to be seen if Warners and George Miller can pull that off despite the lackluster cast. Trust me, I'm as HUGELY disappointed about this horrific cast as everybody else here. But I'm hanging in there waiting for an official announcement. Hell, I'm still betting the film doesn't happen LOL.

You're preaching to the choir, Hunter. You don't have to convince me; convince George Miller. He's the one that chose the cast. Warners just gave their blessing.

Silly studio...

He also had more than a soap opera on his resume before SR than Gle does to this day.
What part of "skimpy resume" verses "no resume at all" did you not get?
