JL Casting Call Update

But if MM is CGI (supposedly) it wouldn't matter what the actor's age might be at the time. Right?

Yep, and I don't know how old Christopher Judge is. :oldrazz:

So you are willing to believe some rumors for this film(and I call them all rumors until WB officially releases a statement) but not willing to believe some of the other rumors just because you may not like the choice?
The problem is, not all rumors agree. DJ has been rumored to be cast as Bats too, not just Superman. Porter was rumored for Superman, but said he thought he was auditioning for Flash. One rumor says the film's cast is locked, and another rumor has Eva Green auditioning for some undisclosed role. There's rumors that the film is nowhere near being ready to shoot and others saying it begins principal the second week of February. Pick your rumor. Ask Rob Sanchez; he knows ALL about "rumor." LOL

In the words of William Goldman, nobody knows anything.

The only rumors I would believe are the ones that have come form the actors themselves. And that hotel guy.

Everything else about people who are or know insiders is bull****.

Where's the rumor that says this film has been cancelled? :csad:

Gotta love those insiders, sources, pals, spies, acquaintances, onlookers, friends of friends, fellow diners and party goers, all so reliable with their information. :woot:

Rumor or speculation? 'Cause there definitely has been a lot of speculation in the last few months.

Seriously, I think something is up. Or down... or whatever. ;)

Hey, at least the hotel guy has pictures!

It's mind boggling that we are practically a month away from the start of filming on arguably the biggest superhero movie ever without one confirmed casting. This is just too bizarre.

Hehe, I just meant that I want that rumor to start circulating with a strong possibility that it may be true. Because I do not want this film happening with the names I have heard associated with it.

I don't know about biggest superhero film ever, but the lack of official news so close to filming is very odd, it's like 6 weeks away and nothing has been confirmed.

There is so many conflicting rumors and bull***** going around we dont know what he hell is happeningg with this film any more.

Yeah, I hear that. Dunno what to say about it though.

Gut feeling tells me this film crashed and burned the day the writers went on strike back in November. But then we got Brody in Oz right now. Hmph. What's he doing there? They're not ALL on vacation LOL. If the script has issues - and I've heard that from more than just the guy that was posting here this morning - why are other aspects of the production apparently going forward (casting, artwork, costumes, etc.)? Are they plugging away with the hopes that the WGA strike will end before principal begins? And if it doesn't, they'll just send everybody home and somebody else will eat the lost production costs at a later time like Singer suffered with SR? It's baffling.

JL HAS to start in February in order for principal photography and any necessary pick-ups to be completed by June when the actors go on strike. But the proposed $150M+ pic has yet to be greenlit and it has no scheduled release window set. No official announcement of *any* kind has been made by Warners to the press, and to my knowledge, it STILL isn't even on their production sked.

At this point, if the film does happen, I'll be amazed.

Maybe Warner Bros doesn't know what's happening either.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Back in 1988 they shot Batman during a writers' strike because they had two writers on the set (Warren Skaaren and Charles McKeown) who didn't adhere to it.
In Australia there are probably dozens of screenwriters willing to do a rewrite being paid Hollywood money for a fix job.
And last, I have in my hands a script by a major Hollywood screenwriter whose latest rewrite was done in December, so everything is possible.

I am telling you that I know for a fact that the script is not ready to be filmed. The budget is not big enough for what is in it at the moment. I'm sure that Miller will find a way around it but the strike is making things difficult. I don't care if you don't believe me and I don't have tons of info on the film but I am close to someone working fairly high up on it. Whenever I see this person I want to sit there asking a million nerdy questions about the story and the cast but I feel stupid doing it if the only conversation we have is about Justice League. The same way that it was when he worked on Superman Returns and The Matrix sequels ... no matter how much I want to say how lame the cast is etc. I feel rude doing it.

Also I remember being on the IMDB boards back in 2001 and no one believed me that the Matrix Reloaded script ended with To Be Continued. I don't have any reason to lie and I don't have to prove anything I am just letting you know what I know. If I was gonna make something up I would come up with something better than what I have said.

I revealed who is playing MM just be grateful that you have something new.

This whole movie is an ill conceived joke anyway. The casting proves this....

This will be a Fantastic Four type of film.....maybe worse....and thats not a good thing people....

Part of me really, REALLY wants to see this film. I think it would be a hoot and a half, and highly entertaining.
cool.gif

The other half of me sees a rumored cast headed by DJ Cotrona as Superman and wants to hurl.
sick.gif

Seriously? How can they get sooooo many things right (director, producer, FX, script - what we know about it, anyway) and fail so miserably with the cast? It BLOWS my mind. :(

As to not wanting to see it made, I don't get that either. Make it. Don't make it. I could give a rat's patootie about that. I'm not being forced to see it. I would like it done right, but if they foul it up, oh well. No skin off my nose - or money out of my wallet.

First off, your repertoire of smileys is great! :woot: Second, another reason I don't want this film getting made is because I hate the idea of there being multiple live action Batman and possibly Superman(who knows what's going on with that franchise) at the same time. I just flat out hate it and I think it's extremely stupid. I don't care if they do it in the comics or an animated tv shows, I hate the idea of multiple movie live action Batman and Superman. Period! :yay:

Counting this Justice League movie, since 1989 we have had Batman portrayed on the big screen in live action 7 times played by 5 different actors!!!! I think that's absurd! Can't we have a Batman that we can get comfortable with for more than a week? Is that too much to ask for? I feel as if we had more Batman actors than James Bond actors and there are about 20 of those films. I just find it ridiculous.

Thats one of the MANY reasons why this film should NOT be made right now...

Just FYI, there is another "insider" at the Superherohype boards who claims the script is "nowhere near ready to shoot." Hopefully we can get more confirmation on this. (Emi, hint, hint). He claims to know someone high up with the movie. Outside of the one or two individuals who have given us information, these "insiders" are really pissing me off. Nine times out of time they are full of crap!

I know I've had my share of bad info on this film (Thanks Lady M!), but the script for this film was near perfect from the time it was turned in. They went through 4 rewrites (adding in Martian Manhunter and tweaking things here and there) and George Miller himself has said it will begin filming as scheduled. Not to mention 3 of the rumored cast members are currently in Austraila with no specific purpose being given to the public. So that in itself should say this is a done deal. I can pretty much guarantee that my #1 and only 100% trusted source is way higher than whomever this other person knows. I'd bet a case of 1999 Cristal on it.

Hee! Tanks!! :D

It's funny because I've kind of gotten used to that LOL. I'm a little more sensitive to Superman than Batman because I've already had to endure the whole SV vs. SR thing; obviously I have my favorite Superman on that front.

With Batman though, I dunno... I think Bale owns, but I'm less "attached" to him as an actor than I am for the character. IOW, as long as the characterization is right and the acting good, I'm pretty open to whomever they cast. I'm MUCH more critical of Superman, hence my disgust over the Cotrona rumor.

Well, yeah, I guess it is. But its not for the lack of trying, right? If they could have kept Keaton, I think they would have. Poop happens. And who knows... It could happen w/ Bale too.

Can't we have a Batman that we can get comfortable with for more than a week? Is that too much to ask for? I feel as if we had more Batman actors than James Bond actors and there are about 20 of those films. I just find it ridiculous.
I totally hear ya, but again, it's the directors making these decisions, isn't it? And the actors also have some say in what THEY want to do. JL isn't being directed by Nolan or Singer. Miller is going to cast who HE wants. Could they have "forced" Bale to do it by contract? Yeah, I suppose they could have. But then that leaves Nolan high and dry for a third Batman film. So it's best to just recast. I get that. And if they recast for Batman, they might as well recast for Superman, though I think there were extenuating circumstances on why they didn't want to cast Routh.

The other argument is to wait on JL, but Hollywood is a business and they strike while the iron is hot. If they have a phenomenal script (they say they do) and they want to launch other franchises (they do), then I understand the rush. I think the writers' strike really messed things up. It remains to be seen how bad.

But y'know what? NONE of this is neither here nor there in terms of who IS rumored to be cast. I get not casting Bale. I get not casting Routh. Hell, I even get not casting Welling because of the scheduling nightmare. But DJ Cotrona? WTF are they smoking? That is where *I* am coming from in personal frustration. :(

^ Which hot iron are you talking about?

I see your point. But the fact that there have been SO MANY batman films makes me care very little how this film will affect his solo adventures.Until I've seen Flash, GL and MM on the big screen 7 times, I won't be too worried about Batman.
