JL Casting Call Update

I still don't see why they don't bring Routh into this JLA Movie? I think he did good enough to get a shot at this one, unless they have some guy just waiting in the wings to blow our socks off. Bring him on WB!

I can't stress enough how stupid the WB is! Personally, I want Welling to have the role, but for what the WB is doing to Routh is dead wrong! How can he be blamed for what Singer wanted?! I'm so glad I'm seeing JL on bootleg. I just can't see myself supporting those a-holes at WB!

If not Routh, I would like Welling as well, but Im looking at the quote...

The next Superman we will see on the big screen will not be Brandon Routh, but a younger Superman among a cast of youthful superheroes in The Justice League.

All he said was the next Superman we will see on screen is the JL Superman, but didn't say Routh will not be in the Superman Sequel...

You know KBX, the more I think about it, who's to say these aint more rumors? Singer said last month that he is returning and some peeps at WB even confirmed it. I just don't know what to think. All I know is that the WB heads are some dumb s.o.b.'s in touch with their fan base as much as Brittney is a good mom. Yeah they are just that bad! :o

Warners is run by idiots, but Im hoping that Dan Lin guy comes up big....

You want more rumors?

"All I can say is no, it is not going to be delayed because of the strike. One hero has yet to be cast and it is a big one. IF, and that's a big if, it gets delayed at all, that will be why. I have spoken to [name edited] personally and as of about a week ago everything was moving exactly as scheduled."

That is from the Jayne on the IESB Boards....

Sups? Bats? I think its WW, since you got Eva Green auditioning last week...

Yea from all the reports we have heard from miller and people who have the sources in hollywood the film is going to happen and isnt affected with the strike. Emi is probably right that its probably been a casting issue with one of the heroes probably is superman that has been the problem with casting they probably dont want to mess him up.

Well we will probably have to wait and see how jl does if it doesnt do well who ever is supes there is probably not going to be solo supes movie. But if it does well then that guy will probably be supes.

Routh aint supes anymore??:(

Not in JLA, but there's no news regarding if he'll play him in MoS. Latino Review clearly misread the article about Routh not playing Supes in JLA. As long as Singer is coming back to do MoS, you can bet your ass that Routh will be back.

Well my guess is wb is going to wait and see about routh if jla superman is liked they will probably use him if he does bad that routh will probably be mos superman.

^idk
I think, JLA superman should stay in separate continues, for the SR, MOS movies

I personally didn't want Routh in JL cause, I didn't want it to be continues to SR, so, the opposite would be the same, imo

JL superman, shouldn't be in a SR sequel, MOS

now if say they want to make a JL superman spin off that's not related to SR that another story

but, even though, I personally didn't case for SR, I wouldn't mind a sequel in MOS staring Routh (or if they really don't want Routh, a new third Superman actor)
just saying

WB, take note, this is how you approach a superhero team-up film:

...Favreau insists that Marvel will only go ahead with the project if and when all the individual characters get their own story. It'll be worth the wait, Favreau claimed, calling this way not only more impressive and formidable – but more consistent as well.

"I wonder if the tone of 'The Incredible Hulk' is going to be similar or different than ['Iron Man']," Favreau questioned. "And 'Captain America' is a twinkle in Marvel's eye right now. And 'Thor' and 'Ant Man.'

"[But] in the case of Marvel they're pretty clear on wanting to do it with the actors who've established the roles or to not do it at all. That's what they've said to me," he continued.

It looks as though Marvel are really putting WB to shame.

I hear it yes, but I'll wait until I see the first Marvel fully produced film before I begin to say they're going about things perfectly.

As for the variety article, pushing for a Superman younger than Routh is what worries me.

Well most of the names we have heard for supes with the young actors they are like 24+ minus hammer who is 21. Routh was what 25 when he did the film and reeve's was 24 when he started. So most of the rumored names for supes are around the same age as routh/reeve when they started or a little older.

No. Latino Review says that he will not be Supes in the solo films either.

Variety has now confirmed what we've secretly known for a while and Brandon Routh will be replaced in the stand alone sequel by whomever is cast as Superman in the upcoming Justice League of America movie.

They knew he wasn't going to be Supes anymore for a while but was asked by DC personally not to say anything. He has known about it for a few weeks. It was just the lady at Variety heard it at a party and broke it first. And Variety would not care if DC came to them and asked them to be quiet. Latino Review is the one who broke news that Routh was cast, and that Singer was directing. If they say it, take it to the bank. Routh is no longer Supes in any form.

Wow! I did not know Chris Reeve was that young when he was first Superman. Good point sir.

Well, now this thing makes more sense now IF Superman is still yet to be cast. WOWZERS! What a role to have to fill with in days of shooting! It's no wonder they have not offically produced the cast at this time if SUPRERMAN is not cast. So who backed out? You can't tell me you have a Hotel full of actors and not a room booked for the guy wearing the red cape?

But the Hotel guy has comfirmed DJ being down there as of right now. Could his job be on the hot seat? Or could he be playing someone totally different?.....Anyone think Hammer as BATMAN and DJ as ROBIN would work?
If so I will be the first to take credit for it! :)

The hotel guy is Superman.

If superman is not cast, and Routh is gone, They should really just give it to Welling before they screw things up any further...

Sorry, but they are going it screw it up. With news hitting more & more, it really going to blow up in their face.

And what's even funnier is if Superman is not cast. Then how in the world could the WB even being to think of replacing ROUTH now. If they plan is using this Superman going forward, but they just don't know who? That's a big gamble. This news today is not making much common sense...just more rumors.....GOD I LOVE EM!

They claim that they've known for a while, but they use the variety blog as confirmation, which didn't say anything about Routh not playing Superman in MoS, only that there'd be a new Superman in JLA. And if Singer is coming back, which is still likely (I don't care what the blog says, that's just more bull**** rumors), then Routh would 100% be coming back. Singer would not do another Superman movie without him.

I think they should stop the Bryan Singer Superman movies, and send Brandon Routh over to The Justice League. The only good thing in Superman Returns was Brandon Routh. With the type of film they are making, he sounds like the best fit, and he is a good Superman. It also makes Superman Returns look like less of a failure if it ties in to the Justice League movie franchise.

Give the Superman movie franchise a re-boot, ala Batman Begins. (aka: Superman Begins). Have it come out after the third Batman movie, and get Nolan to direct it.
