JL Casting Call Update

Because it's still going to happen.
Perhaps. I'd guess that the actor's aren't saying anything because there's still the possibility of it being made with them still involved.

The movie itself was set to begin filming in mid February, about 4 to 5 weeks after pre-production shut down. The actors may have been sent home after the rehearsals in December, scheduled to return at some point after the their options were to be picked up. Of course, they weren't, so they never went back.

I have a difficult time taking a dude named Armie Hammer seriously. :(

As much as this movie sounds about as realistic as Brad Pitt dumping Jolie for a gerbil..........I to think its going to happen. The WB seems hellbent on making this movie.

yea i was just watching the trailer, he seemed pretty good in it. Yea he isnt who i would have wanted for batman if miller's jla film was happening cause him paired with dj cotrona were total miscastings for batman and superman for the film. I really hope if jla does happen again they find the right suited people for the job.

Another Baruchel confirmation.

Baruchel is just back from Pittsburgh (where he stars in She's Out of My League, a romantic comedy about an average guy who falls in love with a beautiful woman), Hawaii (for Tropic Thunder), and Australia (for an abortive attempt to make a film out of the superhero story Justice League of America, a project that Baruchel says "is in some sort of quagmire right now. That's a really big fat question mark for me because it was some of the most fun I've had working on anything, the rehearsal I've done in that movie.")

Nice update biolumen, i hoped if the film was still happening he wasnt actually max lord like some rumors but just a head minion. But we will likely never see Miller's jla happen like he wanted to be.

A lengthy trailer for Armie Hammer's "Billy: The Early Years" is now up. It's pretty much all Hammer. This guy looks to have some real potential.

I agree, man. He's actually a pretty decent actor, based on what I've seen. I hope he does well. I'm glad he's not another Hayden Cristensen. Thanks for posting that, BTW.

Still, who could he have been playing? Batman? Superman?

And he didn't seem "freakishly tall" as some described him, lol.

Well alot of the rumors months ago had him peged for max lord but there were many like me hoping he was just a head lacky for lord or talia. But george miller's version of jla will likely never happen. Which i hope is true cause casting was all wrong, and it was shaping up to possibly turn into a superfriends film then a jla film. As i said many times before i hope if jla gets off the ground again sooner/ or later they will hire a better suited director/crew who knows and loves all the characters, get a better script, and remain faithful to who and what the characters are, and then hire a cast that fits all the roles.

As I haven't seen all the Superfriends series can you help me?
In which episode Batman was spying on his superhero friends trying to find ways to defeat them?
And in which one does Superman beat to death the aforementioned Batman?
How about the episode in which Flash dies?
Were the Wonder Twins at the funeral?

Are you getting paid by George Miller to defend his vision?

No, it's just that I don't like the world of mouth based on BS, like "This is not Justice League, it's the Teen Titans. All the actors are teens" and "It's Superfriends: the movie".
I tend to trust the words of an award winning director more than those of a guy whose job is writing of action figures for a website (I guess you know who started this Superfriends rumor, don't you?).

No what i was trying to say yea some of the stuff that was known about the film sounded pretty good, but then there was the casting which was mostly all bad, and then some things rumored here and there that made it seem like it could have turned into superfriends instead of jla.

I was just messing with you anyhow.

I understand what you mean, heck I do it myself sometimes.

I didn't remember who did, but now I know who you are refering to.

If W.B. really wants a J.L. film then the smart thing to do would be to use M.O.S. for a launching point of sorts.
Have some names thrown around of other heroes. Heck, throw a cameo or two in.
BUT since this is W.B., I don't expect that.

Think about it. Your sitting there watching M.O.S. and all of a sudden a person introduces himself/herself to Clark as Barry Allen or Diana Prince.

Now who wouldnt geek out over that?

I have been screamin the exact same thing brotha.

The character(s) that I would like to see have a cameo or intro in MOS would be Det John Jones aka Jonn Jonn'z Martian Manhunter and maybe one of the Flashs' though.

Hopefully the summit made them realise that there is more to gain by uniting the characters into the same universe than keeping them separate. We'll see.

Yea that would be nice and hopefully with the talks they have been able to finally get on the ball. Hopefully the details of the talks will be release for the public so we can see how they will be doing things and if they will be doing every character is separate universe or they are going to be in a shared universe like marvel studios characters.

This here makes me believe that is what they are thinking:

With "The Dark Knight" near its release date, a new agenda is being set, one that not only sees the DC characters emerge with a higher priority but also one that would see them developed with an overarching goal in mind.

Baruchel....again....on JL:M. "I really, really hope it happens".
Baruchel stays close to the pack

By KEVIN WILLIAMSON - Sun Media

With super friends like Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow and Ben Stiller, who needs the Justice League?

Still, it's hard to mistake the disappointment -- or enthusiasm -- in Jay Baruchel's voice when he discusses the mega-budgeted comic-book extravaganza that almost was.

"I really, really hope it happens. It was the coolest thing in the world for a nerd like me," says the 26-year-old Montrealer, best recognized from last year's Knocked Up, Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby and the Apatow-produced TV series Undeclared. "It was going to be awesome."

And frankly we're probably going to have to take his word on that. Baruchel -- who won't reveal what role he'd signed for, although rumours had him pegged as one of the villains -- was in Australia last December rehearsing when Warner Bros. unceremoniously banished the production to a purgatorial phantom zone. Among probable reasons why? The toxic buzz the League movie -- despite being helmed by The Road Warrior's legendary George Miller -- was generating online. With neither big-screen Batman Christian Bale nor Superman Brandon Routh on-board, fanboys balked at the decision to recast young unknowns as those spandex-clad icons. "Everyone on the Internet was hating our movie," Baruchel says. "But you know us cast members were psyched that everybody was gunning for us because it would have only meant people would have been blown away that much more. We knew the bulk of the detractors would have been silenced."

Not that Baruchel isn't staying busy while he awaits final word on League's fate.

What's else is he suppose to say? "I'm sure the detractors would have been right". Every actor says that about films they're involved with. Interesting to note that the internet disliking was heard.

Hmmm. Most folks think fanboys have no impact on films. This says otherwise.

Yea miller may have been great in the past but the way things were shaping up and the casting of people who dont really fit the characters right this whole project was not going in the right direction most likely. Its good that it did get sheleved hopefully if jla happens again and i said this many times hopefully wb takes it seriously and make it a epic quality film on par of tdk.
