Basically, from what I've read, if the two teams at their most powerfull are going to be fighting eachother, it looks like it's going to come out a draw. Basically, earth will probably get blown up, or the cosmos are seriously going to be screwed with.

Fair enough. A draw.

I would dispute this. Yes the Phoenix is essentially omnipotent. So is Superman with the Sword of Superman and so is Ion. The JLA can also pack Zauriel, giving them access to the Host of Heaven and the Spectre.

Can the Phoenix fight Superman, Ion, and God?

Yes yes that is what I wanted I thought nobody could come up with a power that rivals Phoenix, from the DC universe. Thanks

Batman would find a way to beat Longshot.
He could create some gizmo and finish him.

Yes, and win! The Phoenix as the creation force means that it is the creater of all other cosmic beings and of divinity itself (damn I hate theological debates.) Bringing God, Heaven and the like into the discussion is worthless since there are differing opinions about the subject. Atheists like me would hold the opinion that God and the Host of Heaven would lose every fight to anyone since they don't exist.

Except they do exist in the DCU. Zauriel, member of the JLA, is a fallen angel of the Eagle Host of the Pax Dei. The Presence and the Source are aspects of God. Regardless of your own beliefs, in the DCU God is real and I don't think anyone can argue that the Phoenix can take on DC's supreme being.

But she isn't fighting God, she's fighting the JLA. Just because the JLA had a member once that was God's angel doesn't mean God, or even his angels, get to participate in the fight.

If we play the "connections" game, the situation becomes even more ridiculous than it already is. If Zauriel gets to call up the Pax Dei, then who says that Jean Grey can't call up the Phoenix Corps shown at the end of Here Comes Tomorrow? Every single one of them is a potential Phoenix of a particular reality. If you thought Jean Grey having infinite power wasn't enough, how about an infinite amount of that infinite power?

Hell, why doesn't Xavier call up Dr. Strange, since they were both in the Illuminati? And then Dr. Strange can call up Eternity or the Living Tribunal?

There has to be set rules and set participants and set baselines powers for this fight, or else it just becomes a giant pissing contest of "Who can destroy the world faster?" The fact is that both of these teams, at the most powerful that they've ever been shown in any continuity, has members who can destroy the world several times over...and then recreate it again and again. By those guidelines it can't possibly end in anything but a draw.

Fantastic, Well that should settle it right.

The Justice League would stomp the X-Men into the ground.

But really, the more interesting questions are -

X-Men VS. Thundercats

Justice League VS. Masters of the Universe

X-Men VS. Masters of the Universe

Justice League VS. Thundercats [insert winky icon here]

Yes that is the question. Another could be Peter Griffin vs Homer Simpson

True but Homer has his built in football helmet remember? you could beat him with a surgical two by four all day and he'd stay standing. That and homer has beat the hell out of an army of nerds before. As well as fought a hell of a fight with Barts big brother. In those instances he's proven that homer fights dirty. And he's far more resilient. Homer takes it for sure.

And in regards to Thundercats vs X-men/ Thundercats vs JLA.
Thundercats could take both. Lion-o'd fight them all while Panthro stole their tv's.
Thundercats HOOOO!!!!

One more cannon ball to the gut and Homer is a gone!!!!

Clarmont, Morrison and Pak told and tell good stories, unfortunately recent issues of FF contradict the Phoenix forces role a little. Damn Marvel continuity ;) Reed helped create the Marvel Universe.

Oh my god, its the Whirly! :(

The Justice League could never win against the Xmen. Their powers range beyond infinities. Storm simply with an uninhibited control over planets and cosmic energy and toxin control, Phoenix with Supreme Cosmic power and hunger, cyclops with pure blast of radiation, wolverine healing instantly, Colossus practically unstompable, and Gambit with the ability to practically charge anything. Magneto and Storm together would be like pressing the destruct button. The Magnetic and Electromagnetic potential of every thing in our galaxies and other galaxies would make them invincible.

It really all depends on the team's roster and who takes on who in battle...
But in the end it would all come down to this: they have to team up and stop the hunger of the Phoenix force from destroying the world

If you're putting Jean Grey and Magneto on the team you're pretty much dooming the Justice League. Both of them are as powerful as many cosmic entities.

I also think, as usual, people are overestimating Batman's effectiveness in a fight like this. Gambit, Nightcrawler and maybe a few others would be beatable. But Cyclops, Colossus, Phoenix and Storm would be beyond a challenge for him. Cyclops is easily as competent a battle tact, and Phoenix and Storm are scads more powerful.

The X-Men fight as a team, if there are any individuals who will give them trouble it's Flash...as his power is somewhat unmatched it seems anywhere else.

, cyclops with pure blast of radiation, wolverine healing instantly.
Cyclops blasts are not radiation, they do not produce heat, they are non enstienium perpetual kinetic energy from an alternate dimension.

Wolverine does not heal instantly.

Cyclops powers don't originate from an alternate dimension, they come from the sun... so the real way to inhibit his powers would be somehow deplete his cells of the solar energy then block out the sun...

or, as the JLA I believe have access to, slap a power inhibitor...

and the Flash rivals most, if not all the X-Men... i mean, he could essentially grab someone and put them in the Speed Force...

Batman might be able to take Nightcrawler... with a few moments in battle, I think he could tell where he would pop up next...

and OZONE, magneto and storm's powers don't have a galactic range...

also, the X-Men will never know that you can take away the sun and Superman's powerless, and by that time, Superman and the Flash take everyone... I mean, Colossus can't stand up against Superman (the Juggernaut could though, with Cytorrak)...

ok, and this is my thoughts on how Batman can beat Wolverine... basically, in Days of Future Past, a Sentinel kills Wolverine by disintegrating him... and in Kingdom Come, Batman has proven he can make mecha suits, so why don't combine the two? Batman could take out Wolverine the same way the Sentinels did...

The Phoenix can take on GOD? That is going overboard. I think fans and comic writers alike need to leave GOD out of the equation, especially when trying to pit heroes and villians alike as somehow being powerful enough to take on GOD. It really is just plain silly. As I recall There is only 1 GOD, and the Marvel and DC universes are just different realities but GOD created and oversees all of creation which inclides all realites and alternate universes. That's my take. No character rather evil or good can take on GOD. From whoever the most powerful character in the DC universe is to the Phoenix, Galactus, The Celestials and who ever else. They would all be toast or just wiped from creation.
