Batman Beyond is great as an alternate Earth's future. I don't want it to be the official future of New Earth, though.

As for Tim retiring from superheroics, I doubt he's going to. He swore he'd never become as grim and dark as Batman a while back, too, yet here he is, brooding constantly and becoming more and more like Bruce ever since OYL. At this point, I'd prefer to see him retire right now. DC's done a thorough job of ****ing everything fun and unique about his character up already.

Sometimes I dig through my boxes and read my old issues of Young Justice. Then I cry. :csad:

I'm gonna look up some Young Justice trades myself. I always meant to read that, but I never did.

It's basically what Teen Titans should have been. Tim Bart and Cassie are still Tim Bart and Cassie, not Bruce Jr., whiny, depressed, intelectual dead guy, and skank.

Titans looks like it'll improve with McKeever onboard. Maybe seeing the Titans of Tomorrow Batman again will remind Tim of what recasting himself as Bruce's carbon copy might lead to and snap him out of his angsty Batboy phase.

But what will save Cassie from her skankification?

Getting rejected by Tim and realizing what a *****ebag she was for wanting him in the first place.

Yes, that works. But Bart and Conner still need to overcome that pesky case of dead they've come down with. And Peter David needs to start writing Teen Titans. :csad:

Mostly I just figure calling it "**** you Geoff Johns" is probably too much to hope for, so Young Justice is the next best thing.

Well, Johns' Teen Titans was actually quite good initially. Probably because it channeled some of Young Justice's fun into Johns' more legacy-driven standard, back when you felt legacies actually counted for something at DC.

Probably look like one too...

I'm just messing with you Shadow, dont go all 'Roid Rage on me my dude.

Ah, the good ol' days of Young Justice. . .

I wish Arrowette and Secret were still around. . .

Someone mentioned YJ should have been the titans or something to that effect. I'm inclined to agree.

I think having Peter David write a Teen Titans comic with those characters well is a pretty big "**** you Geoff Johns" in of itself.

While I wasn't thrilled with Bart's becoming Kid Flash, Johns' Titans was alright early on. But it got pretty bad pretty quickly for me. And one thing that was never really adressed, at least in the issues I read, was Tim and crew adjusting to the much more high profile status as Titans, when they had previously done their best to fly under the radar.

I actually really liked Geoff John's Teen Titans. It was consistent and well written. I really don't get all the complaints. So they changed the characters, big whoop....that must be a mighty new thing in comics.

Yeah, what I read was good. Though the book after OYL wasn't good enough to survive my yearly purge of ongoings.

She's dated Superboy, never cheated on him, he died, she waited over a year and then started to develop feelings for Tim....and now she is a skank:huh:

I don't know. Just seems kind of wrong too me.

She dated Connor and waits a year and then dates Tim(connors best friend). Not to mention it was right after he was trying to clone Connor. That is a skank by all means to me.

Yes, because it's obvious that the feelings they think they have for each other were born of the bond they formed over Conner's death. That's just perverse any way you look at it--like ****ing your dead friend/significant other's memory. If it's any consolation, Tim is pretty skanky in this scenario, too.

She's not a skank. He's not a skank. Her boyfriend is dead, both of them are single right now. It's not cheating. They can fck each all they want and it wouldn't be cheating. Ugh, I can't stand people throwing words like that around.

It's just probably very unhealthy. The two aren't really bonding on any genuine romantic level, just on a physical psychosexual repression grief thing. The specter of Conner is always hanging over them (hopefully not...literally), which makes the "relationship" very guilt- and pain-oriented...and for people trying to move on from death, guilt and pain can't be a good thing to force on yourself all the time.
